Star Wars Saga Monopoly by Hasbro - DetailsStar Wars Saga Monopoly by Hasbro - Sale Price: 33.99

The Star Wars Limited Collector's Edition of Monopoly transforms an ordinary evening of board game fun into a battle for control of the galaxy. The properties are all renamed after Star Wars locales, ranging from low-value Dagobah to high-rent Coruscant, and photographs of these sites adorn the playing surface. The center is a color picture of the space battle above Endor, the Death Star hovering as TIEs and X-Wings fire. The only unchanged squares are the corners: Go, Jail, Free Parking, Go to Jail. And frankly, with their unsophisticated primary colors, they jar the eye. Property Hunting we will go... But the fun doesn't stop there. The playing pieces have been transformed into eight high-quality pewter figures, Heroes and Imperials. You can be Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker, a droid or a Storm Trooper. You can even be Boba Fett. Houses and hotels? Gone! Instead you fill your properties with X-Wings or TIEs (not particularly well-detailed) and then graduate to Star Destroyers or Millennium Falcons (delightfully detailed, despite being made of plastic). The money denominations are the same, but are Imperial Credits rather than dollars, and seven gold 1000-credit coins are also included. "Chance" and "Community Chest" cards are now Rebel or Imperial cards, and have been rewritten to fit the game (for example: "A Death Star Tractor Beam Pulls You Back Three Spaces" or "Let the Wookiee Win. Pay 50 credits"). So, is it really enough fun to retire the dusty Monopoly board you already own and pay the 30 or so credits that the toy stores want? Without qualification, the answer is yes! Game play is exactly the same, so there's no learning curve involved. My children, who normally despise Monopoly, have played for hours. Of course, we modified the rules a bit, collecting 500 credits when we pass go, so that we can get those Star Destroyers and Falcons onto the board. Almost as if we were role playing, we take on the personalities of our chosen pieces. And laugh the hours away. Ages: 6,7,8,9,10,Adult Manufacturer: Hasbro

Jengar by Parker brothers - DetailsJengar by Parker brothers - Sale Price: 13.99

JENGA, the original wooden block tower building game, was invented in the early 1970's by Leslie Scott, a British citizen. She had spent some years as a teenager living in Africa, and to name her game she coined the term JENGA. After much prodding from her Oxford University friends, who had played the game with her for years, she began selling the JENGA game in the United Kingdom. American entrepreneur Robert Grebler discovered the JENGA game and began importing it to North America. Grebler spent so much time demonstrating the JENGA game that he developed substantial expertise, and to the best of our knowledge, currently holds the JENGA game world record of 40 2/3 levels. Grebler arranged a JENGA tournament in Montreal in February 1985, as a benefit for the Heart Foundation. Response from the public and the media was overwhelming. The wooden blocks for the JENGA game begin as alder trees. For many years, alder trees were considered weeds and of little value and were cleared for use only as firewood. More recently, it has been discovered that alder could be an important source of hardwood, making it useful as building material for houses, furniture and, of course, JENGA blocks. The JENGA game now is played and enjoyed by millions of people worldwide, bringing good times, camaraderie, and great entertainment to families and people of all ages. Numerous references to the JENGA game can be found in media articles and features, including the fact that top runners in the Boston Marathon have played the JENGA game to relax before the race; that the JENGA game has long been a favorite of college students; that the JENGA game is utilized as a teaching tool at all levels; that the JENGA game is an effective icebreaker at business meetings and social events; and that the JENGA game has a listing in the famous book, Guinness World Records. JENGA is a good time for everyone. Gather your friends or family and get ready for some real "edge-of-your-seat" fun! Fun Facts: JENGA celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2002. Each game has 54 precision wooden blocks The highest JENGA tower on record stood 40 complete tiers with two blocks into the 41st The name JENGA was derived from a Swahili word meaning "to build" The JENGA game is now available in well over 40 countries around the world. It reaches millions of people and has become a household name worldwide. For any number of players the JENGA game is simple to learn, quick to play and portable fun for all ages -- Suspenseful, tension filled and captivating fun! Ages: 8,9,10,Adult Manufacturer: Hasbro
