mummy2girls wrote: Hi, I am sorry i didnt post this over the weekend but i wasnt able to get online. Jennas x-rays have come back normal. it showed no signs of asthma or anything bad that could be causing her cough. So i am stumped. What else could this be? she still is coughing expecially at night. last night she pewked she was so upset coughing!
I just want my baby to be better and feel better. im so frustrated
Kaitlin'smom replied: humm I dunno. Have you tried he sleeping on an incline, it could be something to do with her sleeping flat that causes it.
mummy2girls replied: she has been sleeping inclined from the very beginning of all this 4 months ago...
jcc64 replied: Have the drs ordered any bloodwork?
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I'm sorry that the xrays didn't give you some relief! What does your doctor think of her cough? I hope she feels better soon!
mummy2girls replied: nope...they keep telling me virus..Im just so frustrated because does a virus stay for 4 months ...
mummy2girls replied: they say virus virus virus. I keep hearing that word out of every mouth...
DansMom replied: Daniel coughed a lot when he was teething for his two lowers, and it took a while for them to come in. He was kind of choking on the drool (gross!). I hope you soon will find out what is wrong or that she gets better soon. Poor sweetie!!!
mckayleesmom replied: Maybe she has alergies. Or even allergic to something. Do you sprinkle anything on your carpet before vaccuming, spray air freshner, etc,,,,Maybe it is something she is ingesting. KWIM?
amynicole21 replied: Ugh! How frustrating!!! Just knowing SOMETHING would have been a relief - at least then you'd know what to do next. I agree that maybe it is allergies... that's the only other thing I can think of
Kaitlin'smom replied: darn, was hoping that was it, okay I thought about her not sleeping like that but I would not want her to choke. I am clueless and I really dont think a virus stays that long. Maybe an allirgy. I am sure you have tried a laundry soap that is dye and perfume free. She only does this at night? Let me ask a couple docs I know and see what they say.
mummy2girls replied: thnx!!!!! im thinking iys allergies. that is why i ahve benn reducing alot of allergy provocking things around the house. but you cant get tested for allergies for a couple yearsUGH
MomToMany replied: I'm glad the x-rays were normal, but sorry you didn't find out why she's still coughing. I'm stumped, too; the only thing left really is allergies. Sorry I can't help out more. Poor Jenna! Lots of 's to you guys!!
jcc64 replied: Without doing any bloodwork, there is no way for a dr to dismiss the cough as a virus. Ask for a complete blood screen, which can be done right in the office. They will be able to count white blood cells, etc., which could rule out anything bacterial or other chronic illnesses. I'm not a dr, but my bro is a pediatrician, and I know that they call everything a virus when they can't pin it on something else. But I wouldn't accept that diagnosis if your baby has been sick for 4 months. It's quite possible it's allergies, but I would insist on some kind of bloodwork. Good luck!
Heather replied: Hey,
I would insist on blood work too...how can they not? I really think you should press this situation...I would be going out of my mind. I was thinking allergies too. It is scary what kind of environmental things out there can really affect your lungs. Hopefully, those doctors get their act together and actually try to diagnose her with something...
Please keep us updated.
Heather
MomToJade&Jordan replied: That is what I was going to suggest. I think the docs need to do some bloodwork.
