wish us luck

ediep wrote: I am taking Jason to another doc for a second opinion on his tearing eyes.

We went to the pediatric opth a few weeks ago and he wants Jason to have a minor surgery on his tear ducts because they are blocked. They would have to put him under general anestesia and thn stick a wire or pobe into his tear ducts to open them up, that way his eyes would drain properly and the tears wouldn't overflow from his eyes and run down his cheeks. I am really nervous about the procedure...the anestesia, the hospital, the fact that the first doc said I can't be with him until he goes under....

I got a reccommendation from my frineds cousin whose son had this sugery and she really liked this doc. Our appointment is at 9am.

If he says the same thing as the firs doc, that he needs this surgery or his eyes will always tear, then hopefully this doc will be a little nicer and more understanding that I am a really nervous mom and this really freaks me out....

anyway, wish us luck

PrairieMom replied: Good luck! I hope this guy has better Bed side manor!

Let us know

Boys r us replied: Oh Edie!! I definitely understand your uneasiness! Please let us know what this new doc says!

MommyToAshley replied: Good Luck! Ashley had a blocked tear duct when she was born. They had informed us that sometimes it corrects itself but if it didn't she would have had that surgery. We were going to have it done at our Children's Hospital, but Ashley's did correct itself by the time she was 6 months old. It's a pretty common procedure, but I know that doesn't make you feel any better. I'd be the same way as you. I hope this next doc is more reassuring. Good luck and let us know how it goes. hug.gif

amymom replied: I am saying prayers for you. And I wish you luck. hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: Edie - good luck. hug.gif

I know how you feel about the surgery and such. Megan's gastro specialist is recommending she go in for a scope if her reflux keeps getting worse (AGAIN!) and that means she has to be put under with a scope thing down to her stomach. I just can't bring myself to do it. It scares me to death. Good thing is we still have time, but believe me I completely understand your nervousness. hug.gif

ammommy replied: Good luck. Let us know what the doc says.

Kaitlin'smom replied: good luck, hope this doc is a bit more understanding.

ediep replied: bawling.gif well, we are back

This doc was nicer and Jason even was more comfortable with this guy.

he also reccommends the surgery.....we scheduled it for next friday bawling.gif

I know it for the best, the constant tearing really annoys him, but man....the thought of someone hurting my baby is killing me

DansMom replied: Oh, I'm sorry to hear he has to have the surgery. hug.gif I'll be thinking of little Jason on Friday next week---sending easy surgery vibes!

Kaitlin'smom replied: hug.gif ah hon I am sorry, I hated when Kait had to have an ultrsounds on her hip, I dunno what I would have done if she needed something more, and the thing they use to help clear them out when they are congested OMG I hated that also she woudl get soooo mad

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I hope the new doc works out for you!! I totally understand having a doc make you feel funny for being so overly protective about your son. I had a ped sorta snicker at me once as if I was being overly sensitive and too paranoid. There is no need for that! It's your son, not their's! I think you're doing the right thing...a second opinion is always the best!

Let us know how it goes...and good luck! hug.gif
