why does nothing work for me?? - vent

a lady offered a twin mattress and boxspring on freecycle about a month ago. i replied immediately with my phone number and offered to pick up the next morning. the woman doesn't reply then a few days later when she does... says i didn't give her my number! well she emails me last thursday and asks if i am still interested in the bed since no one has picked it up. i said yes, very much and gave my number. (Jade needs to get out of my bed! lol) 4 days later no word. i email her again asking if it is still available and specify that i do not have the pick up address... but of course, it was the 1 email i didn't put my number at the bottom of. she emails me back and asks me to give her my phone number. UGH!!! so i mention that i have emailed it to her several times but here it is again... and the she replies and says it is to hard to arrange pick up with me and she is giving the bed to someone else!! MERRY FREAKIN CHRISTMAS!!! what a witch!! i am so furious! i reported her to the mods. it is total BS what she is doing. i really have no money and am on the verge of bancruptcy (sp?) and it would have been a great help to get these items in the nature they were intended... good will... not head games!! it just feels like no matter how hard i fight, i am always going against the current and losing. doesn't hard work, honesty and kindness get you anything anymore?

I waited for 3 weeks for alady to pick up a glass table I offered on freecycle, I was very patient and since she was the first to respond she got it, I was patient. Altho I was getting a bit worried and wanted to get it out before christmas.

The Tampa chapter is going though some "issues" right now too...some people are giving to the first responders but others are choosing which people the goods go to based on their sob story. Apparently, there are a lot of people here that check the freecycle site all day and are responding first to every post then selling the stuff on ebay. Grreat! ruin it for everyone why don't you? Jerks.

Does Jade have a crib? If so, we just put K's crib mattress on the floor until we got a toddler bed. It worked great for us.

ugh that is insane! i think we have the same problem here since i noticed a lot of posts are specifying saying "no resale" and "only for personal use". pathetic how some idiots have to ruin things for everyone.

jade does have a crib mattress but it is borrowed from my cousin and not sure how she would feel about me having it on the floor. plus there is no way jade would stay in her room if she had free reign. hopefully i can figure things out soon.

I'd ask. At least she'd get her own bed KWIM? I'd bet your cousin wouldn't mind. With K we had to put the doorknob things on the inside of the door so she couldn't escape. LOL You know the ones that you have to squeeze to open the door?

I feel the same way a lot of times. I've replied on Freecycle so many times for things I really need and I never get anything. AND YET, I give so much on that site.

I hope things start looking up soon.

You know my dad has had a lot of trials and tribulations in his life and he always seems to be the happiest person. I ask him how he does it and he says that nomatter what happens to you, there is ALWAYS a brightside and ALWAYS something you have to be thankful for! Words to live by! I know everything seems bad right now but there is a bright side and things will work out in the end. Love ya Kimberley and hope things start to turn around!

kimberley replied: haaaaaa... there is a santa claus!!! i made one last attempt to email to the woman with the twin bed and tell her that this was going to be a xmas gift for my daughter and she just phoned me and said we can arrange pick up tomorrow!!!! she said she even has a girl's bed set that her daughter doesn't like anymore that she will give me too! thanks for all your well wishes! they paid off!
