what's everyone doing - for new years?

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: We are done with holiday parties, and although I'm relieved they are over, I feel slightly bored this week without any plans. Had DH's company party last Saturday, girls night out party last Friday, and did all the kids' parties last week (school is out). So now all we have left is New Years, but we are only going to our friend's home up in Denver (about an hour away) and staying the night. We will take the boys (they have two girls) and we will play games and probably be in bed before 10pm. laugh.gif Old farts we are.

What about you all?

PrairieMom replied: I have to work new years night, so I can't get to nuts-o. I am thinking about having a frined and her hubby over for new years, but she may have to work, so that might fall through. Darn hospital jobs. growl.gif

My2Beauties replied: I don't know to be honest. Last year we had a party at our house and everyone had a ball, everyone is asking us if we're doing it again this year and I just do not have the energy nor the money to do it. I don't want to charge people to come to a house party, so that's out of the question. There were too many beer bottles left everywhere, too much food to buy, too many drunk puky people, my rug in my bathroom got ruined because someone puked all over it, people were passing out at my house, then on top of that, I have no clue what all everyone had to drink and when I started thinking about it, I was like I hope to God no one leaves here tore up drunk and gets in an accident. We told everyone that we had plenty of space if they wanted to crash at our house, because we were not going to be responsible for them getting themselves hurt and we explained that we will take car keys, so the one guy that did puke and pass out did stay at our house. A couple other people felt too drunk to drive too and decided to stay. It's just too much hassle. So we'll probably end up at a bar, paying an astronomical cover charge, but hey....I won't have to do the clean up! laugh.gif

5littleladies replied: Hubby is working that night as a favor for my brother. Lucky for us it's at a hotel and we are going to stay the night with some other friends. We'll just hang out and swim and stuff, but the kids love it and I don't much mind it either! happy.gif

Calimama replied: Girls night out!! We're going to take a boat ride in SD and then to the club!! Half of my friends are breaking up though after the ride, the 5 of us who aren't 21 are going to one club and the other half are going to get drunk. rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied: I don't know, we've never done anything for New Years since we've been together. Two of them I've been pg, one we were all really sick, and I can't remember why not on the other two laugh.gif

But this year the kids will be gone and we are both sooooo happy to see 2007 go, it's been a really crappy year, so we just might go out and celebrate. Which for us fuddy duddies would mean dinner and a movie and in bed by 11 rolling_smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: We are not even going to try to get a sitter this year, so we'll either spend it at home -- the 4 of us or if we get invited to our friend's house that has kids then we'll go there. Nothing exciting.

IF for some unforeseen reason someone offers to babysit -- then we'll probably go to a party at our friend's house.

CantWait replied: Probably the same as usual. NOTHING!!! Spend it in front of the t.v. watching movies. dry.gif

bawoodsmall replied: Usually we do something with my sis and her family. Our kids are the same age. I would really like to go out but it isnt safe

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
That's a good point, it isn't safe. Same with Halloween, crazies are out! Sorry, no offense to anyone going out, but people go nuts! Lots of drunk drivin. sleep.gif

For those going out, BE SAFE PLEASE! hug.gif

3xsthefun replied: I have no idea. I would love to do a party here. But I don't think would be able to afford it right now.

So most likely just stay home. Maybe play a few games that is what we done last year.

DillsMommy replied: Hopefully doing a little drinky drinky. I would like to actually go out. I never really have for new years before.

Brias3 replied: Bruce and I came to the quick and unanimous agreement this year that we simply don't feel like going out, so we're going to stay in and have some family and a pair of close friends and their daughter over.

I'm actually looking forward to it, knowing I won't have to get dolled up, spend a fortune or drink too much. I'm going to make a bunch of fun appetizers and we'll order something yummy in and just hang out, play some games, etc.

kit_kats_mom replied: oh it is a big time at our place. NYE is not only NYE for us, it's also our 7th anniversary. love2.gif On top of that, New Years day is Lauren's 3rd birthday.

So, this year, we are having 4 of our neighborhood friends and their kids over and our best friend with her two boys. Lauren's birthday party at 7pm NYE, then pizza, board games and drinks. The neighbors will walk home and my best friend and her two boys are spending the night. I can't wait! I think it will be a lot of fun.

grapfruit replied:
Ugh! You are making me miss CA and I was only ever there like a week and 1/2!! rolling_smile.gif I think it's more my friend that lives out there (Sherman Oaks) is SO fun to hang out w/. I miss her tons bawling.gif I usually get to see her about once or twice a year. And it's coming up on a year since I've seen her last. sad.gif

Good question tongue.gif Probably finding somebody to hang out w/. Neither one of us are big drinkers, but I like to be out and about w/friends.

BAC'sMom replied: Staying home as usual..... it’s safer that way wink.gif

grapfruit replied:
You're right there are a lot of idiots that like to get smashed and try and make it home mad.gif

Mommy2Isabella replied: I will be PREGGO AT LARGE ... I can't FATHOM going anywhere ... hahaha I am running out of clothes that fit ... and new years is still a good 2 weeks away right? LOL, we will probably have a movie night with some close friends that have a newborn smile.gif

Calimama replied:
Well go visit her and we can meet up!! tongue.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: We are driving up to my inlaws other house the day before (our anniversary) so we can go out without the kids. then on NYE we will probably just hang with the IL's and their friends who are also going up.

jcc64 replied: We'll be getting drunk, just not sure where yet! rolling_smile.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: staying in we dont like to be on the roads that night

TheOaf66 replied: well since we are the only ones with kids, usually people come over to our house ( a select group of friends) and we play games and drink to much and laugh to much. Jennie was PG last year so maybe she can whoop it up this year a little. Usually pretty low key though since kids are sleepin upstairs.

lisar replied: NO KIDS that night. Riding 4-wheelers playing with all the paint ball guns etc...

grapfruit replied: ok, retarded here. Sorry. disregard smile.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Staying home...dh and I don't drink...we'll probably play games or watch movies

grapfruit replied:
I want to SO bad. Maybe sometime in 2008! smile.gif I'll have to put it under one of those "we'll see" categories biggrin.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Same here!! laugh.gif Probably at my friend, Sherrie's house. beer.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: Not sure what is going on depending on if Ed works or not
But either way drunk isnt going to be it for me lol

A&A'smommy replied: WELL since I'm pregnant and i can't drink we probably wont do anything because i will be jealous of all the drunk smokers rolleyes.gif I don't really know we will be coming home from Missouri that morning so we should be home the afternoon sometime and then we might go to wherever the party is this year. wink.gif
