what is this ... - lump
Mommy2Isabella wrote: The other day for SOME REASON I decided to feel my breasts ... and there is a rather large lump ... I was wondering if it was normal for this to happen after your milk has dried up ... or what is going on. I found it about a week and half ago maybe a little longer. It is still there. I have my 6 week on the 21st .. just wondering if anyone had thoughts on this ...

ZandersMama replied: It could just be a hormonal thing, hormones change alot after baby, but i'd get the doc to take a look anyway to be careful.
mummy2girls replied: it could be normal but i dont remember when my milk dried up if i had a lump. I get a lump in my breast a week before my period comes and then it stays until 7 days after my peroid goes away. My doc said it is just a cyst and not to worry... i would ask the doc to check it out and see ... does it hurt?
Mommy2Isabella replied: It did hurt, but it doesn't now ... but it still the same size and there are 2 now instead of 1
hawkshoe replied: Get it checked out just to be safe.
boyohboyohboy replied: absolutely get this checked out.
PrairieMom replied: could it be a blocked milk duct? I would ask about it too.
Maddy'sMommy replied: The same thing happen to me arround the time of my 6 week check up after the baby. I called even before my apointment b/c I was worried, and they said it was probably a clonged milk duct. They checked it at my apointment to make sure and that is what it was. I wouldn't worry too much but definitly have them check it out.
My2Beauties replied: ITA with everyone, it's probably a clogged milk duct but I would have it checked out.
Boo&BugsMom replied: After I gave birth to Tanner the doctor discovered a lump in my left breast. It turned out to be a fibroadenoma...basically it's a fatty non-cancerous cyst-like tumor. The doctor said it could be because of the hormone levels changing so rapidly from having a child, and that it is common for that to be a cause of one. I went a couple years with it inside me after having a biopsy and everything, but then had it removed because I just didn't feel like leaving it in there. This could be something you may be experiencing. I would make an appointment to have it checked out, just to be safe, but just know that it is common for these things to happen due to your body rapidly changing.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Can you even get clogged milk ducts after your milk dries up?
Boo&BugsMom replied: Not sure. I do know that you can get hardened milk spots that feel like lumps. Did you get it looked at Jessica?
Mommy2Isabella replied: I will tomorrow at my 6 week.
