kimberley replied: LOL! that is funny! for me it would have to be a golf theme wall clock. all the numbers were golf balls and there was a man teeing off in the centre and it was hunter green. it was obviously re-gifted because i don't golf!!

Well, my weirdest gift I got was a gift from DH's cousin's at my bridal shower. They got me a HAM. Yes, a ham. I just thought that was very weird. And...they wrapped it so I was freaking out when they gave me this gift and it was squishy and cold.
I also got handmade pig hot plates, one mama pig hot plate and 2 baby pig hotplates for a wedding gift. They were very "weird" to me, lol.
megsmommie replied: I guess this is not weird, but more like insulting for me anyways, but last year for Christmas my mother in law bought ME Stuart Little the movie!!!! Um, what the heck??!! She could have bought that for the boys. But, that is what she got me for Christmas- the only thing I might add. lol.

Also one year when my ex fiancee and I were together we joined the gift exchange with his family....I got a bunch of nice stuff for his cousin...I spent a ton of money..His brother and sister in law got me...and I got a $5 dollar plain, sewn wrong sweatshirt from the dollar store....lol....How do I know it was $5...because I was with ex's mom when she purchased it...yep..they didn't even purchase my gift, dh's mom pulled something out of her closet and gave it to me  . Then ex fiancee had the nerve to tell me to just be nice because they were broke and having money problems so his mom gave them the sweater to give to me..... They shouldn't have entered a gift exchange if they didn't have the money to....idiot people.

Luckily for me <dripping with sarchasim> they give lots of little gifts in a big box with confetti bombs dropped in for the heck of it so that it is impossible to open without trashing the house. The last box we got had some old 1970's garish printed placemats, a teletubbies book (with the paper teletubbie dolls missing), some used plastic easter eggs with bits of dirt and grass still in them, a clay bunny with one ear broken off, a really tacky votive holder (only one) and some miscellanious other stuff. I just dunno about them

OK...........i have been doing some thinking!
My DH got a 12 pk of diet dr. pepper for his birthday from his grandma (he doesn't drink diet dr. pepper but she does! LOL) and she put it in tissue paper and in one of those gift bags too! She also got him a blood pressure monitor??????????? She got it in the mail with one of her prescriptions. For christmas she gave him some pecans and a ham! His family is weird about giving food as gifts!
I have gotten used soap (like a BAR of Ivory), mis-matched earrings, salt and pepper shakers from a restaurant!, a SOAP DISPENSER from that same RESTAURANT bathroom! Thermal underwear that wouldn't fit a 5 year old and rump roast!
