i ask this because out of nowhere a conversation and series of events that happened to me when i was little came to mind just recently.
here's my situation--all through college i thought i wanted to be a doctor but when i was a little girl i said i wanted to be an artist. starting with preschool and all through elementary school i could draw, paint, etc better than my peers so the automatic thing that came to mind was becoming an artist and when i said that most people took me at my word.
so one day, when i was in first grade, i was talking to a friend who was older...she was about 9 to my 6 or 7 and to me she seemed much older and much wiser so i was showing her my drawings that i did that day and asking her if she thought i'd make a good artist and she said, "well, Jennifer, your drawings are great but i don't think being an artist is such a good job anymore because nowadays, people have cameras and don't need to have their portraits painted."
now, fast forward to today.... freaky, isn't it?
and the weirdest thing is i only remembered that convo out of the blue a couple days ago, it's not as if i thought about what she said over the years and made a decision based on that.
incidentally, while i love doing arts and crafts with kids and things like that, i no longer possess any particular talents as far as drawing and painting are concerned...all my artistic talent requires the use of a camera....
did anyone here become what they wanted to be as a youngster? this whole thing has me very curious all of a sudden.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Tanner loves outer space, aquatic animals, and music. So, if I were to go on his major likes I'd have to say Astronaut, Marine Biologist, or Rock Star. He was actually asking me about going to space yesturday. I told him he'd have to be an astronaut and he said "OK!". He loves aquariums and his favorite part of our zoo is of all things...the fish tanks and aquarium. Not the lions or something "cool"...the dang fish. He can also sing well for his age...hits the notes and stays on key. Loves to play intruments. He also loves to watch daddy smash up his cars in the demolition derby's so I don't know what that could mean.

or is he maybe an aquarian? he strikes me as a deep thinker from what i can see of him, someone who likes to ponder and question the status quo.

I did start college as a sports medicine major and worked in a physical therapy center. but I only lasted a year before I got sick and dropped out. I can't say I see myself ever going back into anything in the medical field but I can tape my kids ankles and wrists when they get into sports

ALWAYS the center of attention. We have two cats, but only one likes him. Our kitten is pretty affectionate to anyone. Our older cat, Taz, can't stand to be by him. He's a timid and always paranoid kitty. He doesn't like kid's at all. When one of the kids looks at him he puts his ears back and bolts. They don't even have to touch him, he just runs when he knows he's been spotted by a child.

Tanner has been into superheroes too lately. All of them! He went crazy everytime he saw someone trick or treating in a superhero costume. His dad has him hooked onto Justice League...apparently that was dad's favorite show as a kid!

if you can tell me the exact time of your birth, down to the minute, like for example 8:12 am or something to that effect and the exact location, as in NY, NY and of course, the date then i can do your whole chart and we'll see if there is a conflict.

Emilie, although very much a brat and a general pain int he you know what, is very attentive and caring when there is a booboo or someone is feeling sick. She's very motherly... so she's either going to be a sahm of tons of kids, or a nurse/doctor... she's also very affectionate towards animals, although they seem to avoid her. I can't for the life of me imagine what aniumal wouldn't want to be hugged and squeezed and loved to pieces all day long?!

Naomie is very much an attention getter... she need sto be in the spotlight, and is slightly agressive. Ok, very agressive. She's either going to be an athlete of some kind, maybe martial arts... lol that or she's going to be a high-powered employee at a fancy firm.

ETA - when I was young, I wanted to be amarine biologist. Then I was always asking my grandmother if we could have this or that animal, and then it was if we could adopt all the Starvin Marvins from Africa...and I made our family "adopt" a few kids through the World Vision program. I still sponsor two kids today. I'm looking into taking some university level courses in the Social Studies field, more specifically in Social Services and Child Protection Services.

amymom replied: Billy is going to be a computer or video game programer he says. He is pretty lazy so he will probably fall into something and do that. But whatever he tries he will have some success at. He is loving Biology this year in school so I am trying to get him to look at that. He also does really well at telling stories, so I think he should consider writing / reporting. But when it comes to required work he turns in the least amount acceptable. see I said lazy!!!

Mary Beth is going to be the first female NHL player. And you know what she just may do it. She says that unless a woman's National Hockey League is created before she is old enough that is what she is going to do. She already has the college she is going to attend (on a hockey scholarship) and then she will do Hockey professionally. Then when that is all said and done she is going to get a Doctorate (maybe vetrinary science although she doesn't want to dissect anything) And with the Doctorate she is going to become a Special Agent with the FBI. So you see she has her life all planned out. She and Billy are opposites.

ETA: I always thought I would be a teacher. But I went into business managament instead. But I do teach CCD classes and substitute at school and fill in in the business office at school sometimes. I would still love to be a teacher ... but getting too old to change now. And I have two kids to teach and mold

My son is only eight, but I know that he will be joining the army/milatary someday. The funny thing of it all is that nobody on either side of the family is in either. My mom gets very upset to think of it. But like I tell her all the time, I can't stop him from doing what his passion in life is.

Fashion model (who lives in NYC nonetheless), fashion designer...you get the picture. She's obsessed with fashion and the funny thing is, she has an eye for it.

I wanted to be a photographer. And, I guess I am one of sorts although I'd like to get more training and take some more courses. Oh and time to play around with it would be nice.

Jade told me that she wanted to be a football player when we drove by the stadium a couple of months ago. Otherwise I seeing her doing something in the arts. She's a Virgo by the way.

Of course it's too soon to tell what Jordan wants to be. She's a Libra.

I wanted to be a professional musician or teach when I was younger and be a Mom. Well I did become a mom. I have a degree in music and I'm currently traning to be a Kindermusik teacher. I'm a pieces, but on the cusp of Aquarius so I do have some Aquarian tendencies.
