what do you do when...

amynicole21 replied: Oh no! I would actually try to NOT give her anything, but maybe try a tepid bath... NOT COLD! Just room temp. Keep her dressed lightly. If she continues to throw up, I'd call the doc because they can give her a suppository. I hope she feels better!
maestra replied: I agree with Amy- is she keeping down breastmilk? If she's not able to keep that down, I would call. I hope she gets better!
MomToMany replied: ITA with the others. Try other methods of getting the fever down. Hannah REFUSES any fever meds, so we do our best to keep her cool; only dress her in her diaper, tepid bath, lots of cold water to drink.
If she's still throwing up a lot, I'd call the Dr.
((((HUGS)))) to you, Kimberley AND Jade!!
momof2girls replied: I agree that bath can really help! Hope she feels better!
kimberley replied: she kept the BM down until i gave her the tempra but was fine after too. i had the same problems with Jacob when he was small and we ended up using suppositories with him. that was not fun. he still gags on liquid meds. i didn't want to bath her because she was really warm, so i just wiped her down with a warm cloth and left her in a diaper shirt. she is still a little warm this morning but not as bad as last night. she basically nursed all night last night, and i am sooooo tired today.
i am wondering if it might just be a teething cold. the boys got a fever with new teeth sometimes. she is in great spirits during the day, she just can't sleep at night. no other symptoms so i guess i will just wait and see. thanks everyone.
A&A'smommy replied: awww poor jade and mommy! I hope that she is feeling better today and able to sleep better tonight! ((((HUGS)))))
ctymom replied: It's always so scary when little ones are sick. I also feel so helpless.
I hope she feels better soon!

coasterqueen replied: If she's keeping down breastmilk, but not the tempra, just keep nursing her as often as she wants. You can also try a sippy of water too, but bm is the best for this.
When Kylie had the flu she was nursing but not even keeping the milk down, it was awful . She hadn't had a wet diaper in over 6 hours. The telenurse said if she didn't have one within 8 hours to take her in. She finally kept the bm down. But she never had a fever.
and i hope she feels better soon.
CantWait replied: I hope Jade is feeling better soon. Hugs to the both of ya!!
MommyToAshley replied: Sorry I missed this post earlier... I hope she is doing better today. I hate it when our little ones are sick, I feel so helpless.
paradisemommy replied: we have the exact same problem with taven. he'll spike a fever every now and then and it seems nothing works - you just have to wait for him to break it on his own. and tepid baths..that's the only thing we could get to work..(even the suppositories didn't really do anything)...he hated liquid medicine and would gag until he threw it up when he was a baby..he's getting better though - so there is hope!!
hope you and jade are feeling better soon!!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Awwww I'm sorry Jade isn't feeling well. I agree with everyone though if she is keeping down breastmilk than I wouldn't worry. But if the fever continues I would call your doctor or you can call the Telehealth nurse and to ease your mind.
ediep replied: Hope Jade is felling better by now!
kimberley replied: well the fever broke last night, thank goodness! she still seems a little under the weather and not sleeping at night. i really think those toofers are the problem. it looks like another one is coming in on the bottom. poor girl why do they all have to come at once? she was a sweetheart most of the day today. babbling away to daddy and grandpa and being her cute self. i just hope she sleeps tonight cuz i am exhausted lol. thanks for all the advice and support. you guys are great!
