what do (will) you miss most - about being pregnant?
due_any_day wrote: my mom and i were talking on the phone earlier and she and i were talking about being pregnant. she said "well, since its almost over, what can you say you'll miss the most?"
my answers, because i had a few, were "Feeling the baby move." then i sort of paused because the rest of them were silly and told her i was afraid to say them because i didnt want her to get annoyed. But then i told her that "Being a regular fart machine with a great excuse and getting away with being so very cranky." were right up there with feeling maggie dancing.
anyone else wanna share?
maestra replied: Getting to eat whatever you want and nobody looks at you funny, even if you're already fat like me!
mummy2girls replied: I miss feeling Jenna kick me. and seeing my belly move. That was so cool ...
jolene555 replied: i miss the way barry looked at me. he had this little protective puppy dog look to him. i loved how he took care of me, how he always let me have his chair, how he gave me back and foot rubs everyday, and put cocoa butter lotion on my tummy at night. along with the hormones, i would cry all the time knowing how much he loved me.
paradisemommy replied: oh gosh..there's just so many...i loved being pg. i think the top ones would be feeling the baby move and watching his foot protrude out of my side. him and i used to fight cause i push it back in and he would kick it back out but even harder..LOL..and um..being able to eat anything and everything..
MomToMany replied: I miss feeling the baby move, eating all I want, and hearing the Dr. say if it's a boy or a girl. I miss the daydreaming about what the baby looks like, if it's a boy or girl, and getting all the baby clothes ready. There's just something about all those tiny little clothes .
Boys r us replied: Well, I definitely miss feeling the baby move, the anticipation and daydreaming of finally meeting and holding my baby, all of the shopping/planning for the babies room and things, being able to eat whatever I want!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I miss (of course) feeling the baby move, the daydreaming, being able to wear maternity clothes and have an excuse for the bloated belly (before I was even showing) and the sex DH and I had before he got here He misses it, too.
coasterqueen replied: Well I will/have missed the baby moving and eating all I want, lol. I'm enjoying the eating all I want and taking it for everything it's worth because I know this will be the last time I get to do that.
Littlejojames replied: I will miss the way craig is with me, so protective, wrapping me up before going out to make sure that me and smudge are warm the way he asks if i would like anything every 20 minutes such as a drink and so on........
And the way in which when he has had a drink (not all the time as some of you know) and he tells me that me and smudge are his family and we are the only thing that matters to him in the world and i dont understand nearly how much he loves me and that he cant wait to be the one to support me and smudge when i give up work for a while.
My2Beauties replied: I miss feeling Hanna's movements, although the little turd used to kick the crap out of me when I was trying to sleep I still miss it, it's the neatest feeling!! I also miss the way everyone was just so extra nice to you, going and getting you stuff, asking if you need anything, I felt like a Princess!
kimberley replied: ditto! Jamie took such wonderful care of me and the boys and was so gentle yet protective through my entire pg. all the nights we would lie in bed dreaming of what she would be like ::sigh:: what a wonderful feeling that was. and i miss watching my tummy do the wave and feeling the little kicks. ugh, now i am getting that itch again
kit_kats_mom replied: The movements. The "knowing" looks that other moms give you. The excitement of not knowing the sex. Eating all I want.
DansMom replied: I didn't recognize those knowing looks other moms give you I think, but now I know I give them out all the time!
I loved the movements too, and later in pregnancy being able to see the outline of a foot as it kicked. I loved the second trimester, too, when I could still be active but was noticeably pregnant. I really enjoyed the naming of the baby---that whole process is such a joy.
due_any_day replied: i will miss my DH talking to my belly saying "Hey sweetheart Daddy loves you." all the time. I will miss how, even though he doesn't like feet, if mine hurt he'll massage them for me anyway. I'll miss how he let me be crazy, sad or upset and didnt try to get me to change my mood because he understood how important it was to just get through it because i'd feel better that way.
mama3x replied: My physical woes outweigh my being able to miss anything...sorry! My answer is nothing.
due_any_day replied: as long as its an honest one, an answer is still an answer.
MomofJandB replied: I'm also in the low percentage of people who didn't really like being pregnant! It was cool when the baby moved, though. I did like when I could actually see my whole belly move!
due_any_day replied: during my pregnancy (still going, 5 days late AND i have a cold.) DH and i stopped watching movies like Alien and stuff because of that...but yeah i agree its cool to see.
MomofJandB replied: That baby is nice and cozy inside of you! Try some jumping jacks! Hope she's here soon!
ctymom replied: I miss
>feeling my baby move around >searching sites about pregnancy ( I was obsessed with ultrasound pictures and what was growing and when lol) >Having strangers run to open the door for me or give up their seat. >Having my DH talk to my stomach. >Excuse to lie down all day with my feet propped up!
The list goes on Pamela
A&A'smommy replied: hmmm EVERYTHING even using the bathroom every 30 minutes or less
momof2girls replied: Eventhough with Kiley I was in alot of pain has major back pain, could not even hardly walk I miss feeling her kick and she kicked hard! I miss people touching my belly eating like a piggy! having Azaria and Daddy talk to her
I even miss my ob and the staff!
kit_kats_mom replied: Oh, and this time, I'll miss K talking to the baby through my belly button like it's her personal phone line to the baby.
I will not however miss peeing my pants every time I laugh, sneeze etc.
momof2girls replied: LOL yeah peeing on yourself is NO fun!
due_any_day replied: peeing myself i will admit i absolutely hate. first time i did it i ran to the bathroom thinking my water broke. nope...just sneezed too hard and peed myself
My2Beauties replied: Oh God I peed my pants so many times and one day at work, I had to wrap toilet paper around my underwear until it dried! I felt icky all day!
Hey that story doesn't go beyond this board
Littlejojames replied: OMG Peeing yourselves????
What else have i got to look forward too????
due_any_day replied: that hopefully wont happen for a while. But when you start to really show, try to not laugh a whole lot. I'd say the same for coughing and sneezing but...that sometimes cant be avoided for me. And there's really not much you can do about it except pee when you feel the need to
kit_kats_mom replied: oh, let's see....hmmmm
I'm sure the other ladies can help out on this one. I'll start
Not being able to shave your legs or trim "down there". It's awful really. I currently look like I'm trying to restrain a small chimp in my panties. And my legs....lets not go there mmm-K?
Being unable to tie your shoes or paint your toenails...heck! Not being able to see your toenails.
Not being able to sleep.
Being taken over by the nesting instinct but being unable to scrub the tub because your belly gets in the way.
My2Beauties replied: OMG I am seriously laughing my butt off about the not being able to trim up down there. I am terrible about having my legs shaved and well my..you know..trimmed especially when being intimate with DF and it bothered me so bad that I couldn't see it. So I would get a mirror and put it down there and shave as best as I could!!
Oh yes and my toenails were hideous, I hid my feet most of the time because they were so swollen anyways I looked like I had swallowed some of Professor Klumps potion and my skinny time was running out so my foot swelled...remember that part of the Nutty Professor??
due_any_day replied: number one thing i've learned during my pregnancy. DONT SHAVE WHAT YOU CANT SEE OR REACH!!!
learned that one the hard way.... it wasnt pretty
mama3x replied: Thanks dueanyday for your support and to momofjnb I am glad I am not the only one who won't miss anything!
I do also think the moving is pretty cool (except when a foot gets stuck between my ribs or I get a stomp on my bladder)
Josie83 replied: I loved being pregnant! i loved the way Jason was with cassie's bump, he would always be touching it and kissing it I also loved having a big bump and knowing that it wouldn't be long before we had our own little person And the way that everyone looks at you and just KNOWS you're going to be a mummy . . . like now if I don't have Cassie with me and if ppl don't know me very well, they might not know I have her. I just liekd the fact everyone knew i was going to be a mummy - does that make any sense?
