jakesmommy08 wrote: ok so im not use to beig home during lunch time. what do u make for lunch? We have like corn dogs, hotdogs, chicken nuggets n easy stuff like that but i would like to make like real, nutritional stuff. Stuff thats easy n is filling. So what do you make?

PrairieMom replied: my children survive entirely on peanut butter and jelly. And yogurt. rolleyes.gif They never get sick of it. I swear Al has it 5 out of 7 days. rolleyes.gif At least she eats it. anything else she pretty much lets lay on the plate. Grilled cheese is super fast and easy, or we do left overs. We have also been known to have a can of soup. but mainly its peanut butter and jelly.
I DO use whole grain bread, organic peanut butter and home made organic jelly, so that at least makes it a little better right? unsure.gif

Danalana replied: Today, I made spaghetti, but I usually do something even easier. I actually don't always get to eat, so I'll make Kade something like grits or pb and j...sometimes I mash up a banana with pb. He loves oatmeal, too, so we do that. Let's see...grilled cheese, pizza, BLT, baked chicken fingers (the breaded ones) with vegetables. I honestly don't cook for lunch much.

Calimama replied: Sandwhiches, soups, raw veggies, wraps, salads, bagel pizza, light pasta, or I turn leftover chicken breast into something.

She'll eat whatever really but I can't stand corn dogs and stuff like that, it makes ME want to gag so I don't even bother buying it. I'm weird. tongue.gif

moped replied: depends on the day but PB is big in my house, vegys, a fruit of some kind, always yogurt or cheese. Leftovers....just depends. I try to make as healthy meals as I can, so things like corn dogs, hotdogs or fast food are a rare treat at my house!

MoonMama replied:
Ditto!

We also do a LOT of veggie stuff pita's he LOVES those! He will always eat yogurt, raw or steamed broccoli, sometimes I do gram-crackers with a bit of organic peanut butter and a banana slicked on top, apples with PB, etc.

ZandersMama replied: with zavs sensory "issues" right now its kraft dinner, chicken, french fries, spagetti or bread with pizza sauce and pepperoni.

yuck yuck and yuck i usually skip lunch.

i ""issues cause im not sure if its sensory or stubborn. i have one doc telling me to starve him and one telling me to give in.

A&A'smommy replied: we either eat leftover from the night before or the kids eat pb &j, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, pizza and then I always have a veggie in the fridge that i can quickly heat up like corn, green beans ect

I either eat left overs, a sandwhich, soup, lean cuisines or smart ones.. I'm on weight watchers so it has to fit within my points, low in fat and high in fiber tongue.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Listen to your heart/gut not the doctors. My husband and one doctor told me the same thing about Megan and I took their verbal "crud" and ignored it and listened to my heart/gut and her occupational therapist. hug.gif hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: Ryan and I eat out for lunch. When Kylie takes lunch she takes soup (chicken noodle or tomato), 2 cheese sticks, pineapple and cranraspberry juice. That is what she seems to want every time. happy.gif rolleyes.gif

ZandersMama replied:
thanks , thats what i have been doing. i figure eating something is better then nothing, and anything with the wrong texture he freaks as soon as it touches his lips, or fingers and he cries.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Usually, it's sandwiches. Andrew wants a meat sandwich (deli meat) for pretty much every meal. rolleyes.gif When we get sick of sandwiches though we do things like mac and cheese, baked chicken nuggets or chicken fingers, fish sticks, waffles or eggs and toast.

youngmomofone replied: My daughter eats at school, and spends weekends at my parents house. On the days she is home though I make her sandwiches and have grapes on the side. Sometimes I will make her mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, etc but I'm starting to not buy it anymore.

DH takes a toasted sandwich to work every day because there isn't room in the small fridge my dad has for any plates for things like left overs. I feel for him because he does get tired of it.

I make myself either a sandwich, a lean cuisine, or I'll have some tuna with some broccoli or a hot dog with green beans. I try to get veggies in every meal.
