SOUTHERN MOMMY replied: I got taken out for lunch at Denny's because it is my DH's favorite place to go. And from there i got a hard time i was going to have 2 hours by myself but, my DH had to go deliver a baby and is not back yet so much for the 2 hours the baby had to come i guess LOL

paradisemommy replied: hmm...i got to run around and help my husband get ready to take off for colorado.. but that's ok..we don't really celebrate holidays cause what we want, we go out and buy..i know we're pretty boring!!

CCTandME replied: A table saw. Yes, I wanted it. I need it to make the stuff to sell at craft fairs. I also got a Mother's Day scratch off lottery ticket(loser ), a balloon and 2 cards. Oh, and I got to sleep in 'til 10:30am.

Emeraldsmom replied: Dh took care of Emerald all day! They left at like 9am to go to his moms house and then the mall to get my present. He got me the 2nd season of Sex and the City. I want to get all the seasons and already have season 1. He also got me a present from Emerald. It was a coffee mug w/her pic on it! And on the back it said I Love Mommy. It is so cute. Then we went to dinner at my moms house. I had a great first mothers day.

amymom replied: I received some links for my charm bracelet. They say 'my kids' 'MOM' 'son' daughter' 'family' on them. Then we went to a fancy buffet for dinner with my MIL. It was a very nice day.

Jamielou replied: Well i got a dozen rosed sent to me at work friday,my girls got a pair of mystic peach earings and i got a mystic topaz ring and my oldest made me a picture for my fridge.. Then on sunday we went out on my parents pontoon boat all day. We all got sunberned. but we had a good time.

DansMom replied: DH was very uncharacteristerically unprepared for Mother's Day. I got up with Daniel at 7:30 am. When DH finally got up he took a shower. After waiting a long while for DH to suggest something, I gave up and made myself a nice breakfast. DH sat around reading the paper and watching TV. I started feeling a little peeved at DH and asked if he was peeved at me (I think he was underwhelmed by my anniversary gifts to him this year, which were just silly things---but that's our tradition!). I even asked him yesterday, "were you disappointed in my anniversary presents"? and he said "on no honey!!.... oh, are you disappointed in Mother's day... ?" I finally expressed some disappointment that Daniel hadn't given me a card. He made some excuse about planning to make one together, but the timing was never right. When I took a shower, he and Daniel made a really cute card. It says "Mama's pretty" on the front and has Daniel's scribbles all over it, and DH drew hearts and flowers. I love the card, but still...

You would have to know my husband to know how NOT like him this is! He's usually so thoughtful and plans out a great special day. We don't spend a lot of money on gifts, but we try to make special days special.

MommyToAshley replied: I got a roses and a new watch. (which I have wanted) Ashley was so excited to give them to me, it was really cute. DH says he has something else planned, but he couldn't find it at the store and he's not telling what it is.

TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I got a digi camera of course from Dh..

But the kids got me stuff that is way better.. Tanner gave me a coffee cup at school and wrote me a letter telling me three reasons he loves me.
1. I love my moms Love
2.I love my mom cooking
3.I love my mom kisse and thats how he spelled it too..

Justin: Made me a card and a recipe for a happy mom.

Tiffany: she spent the day with her Mom..but she didn't forget me. She called me and wished me a happy Mother's Day and to be honest that meant more to me than any of the gifts. It was very thoughtful and sweet


This is the good part of having lots of kids...More presents!

And my best friends surprised me with a horse purse..that was too sweet!

This was the best Moms Day I ever had though~!

~KARA~ replied: I got breakfast in bed, A new Vacuum got to spend the day with my mom and didnt have to chase after the kids! Dh did that for me. It was so nice cause my belly is starting to get in the way, and it makes it hard to get up and down!

First, Brad woke up with Miss P and 5:30 in the morning (that usually doesn't happen.. she usually sleeps until 6-8 am)

Then he came in the bedroom while I was sleeping in with a home made Menu that said "Mr. Breakfasts Mothers Day 2005 Menu " and a bouquet of flowers with a Mom thing in them. The menu had tons of foods for me to choose from that he would make. Then I chose, went back to bed and woke up with breakfast in bed !

Then I went out in the dining room to eat it so I wouldn't wake up Miss P and he gave me the sweetest card from him and another from Miss P (she "scribbled" on it too ) and then my gift which was a WHOLE hour swedish massage with HOT STONES at this really ritzy spa down the road (they serve you tea and bisquits too... ). I was so thrilled! Right after opening my gift the doorbell rang with ANOTHER bouquet of flowers from MIL and FIL!! What perfect timing, dontcha think?!

We went for a beautiful walk (the weather was superb!) . Then we got take out for dinner and went to wal-mart to look at gardening stuff and discuss what we were going to do with the yard. Miss P behaved wonderfully and the day was just PERFECT... we all just bummed around and bonded...

I will never forget the day... it was the best!!

It was my nephew's 1st Communion so they had a big party for him and it was fun. Everyone was tired after it and my poor SIL had some awful dental work done on Friday and still wasn't feeling great so we went nowhere. That was kinda dissapointing. I knew the gifts were no great shakes when my husband told me when we were at Walmart Saturday that I needed to shop by myself for awhile. Ummm . . .guess I was hoping for better than the best Walmart had to offer! On the upside, Olivia played her brains out with her cousin and their neighbors and fell asleep at 10pm!!

I did get a Digital camera with printer from hubby but that will probably be going back. (reason in other post)

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I wasn't expecting anything since the baby isn't even here yet, but Dh got me a gift card for a store that sells my favorite shampoo and conditioner (Bumble and Bumble) that I haven't been able to buy for a long time because it's too expensive. He made it for enough to buy the big huge bottles that last me months. He was going to just buy it for me but he couldn't remember which kind I liked best. It might not sound like much but I love this kind of stuff. It's really funny because ever since the thread on what kind of shampoo you use I've been pining after it but I didn't say anything to dh about it - and he never comes here and reads posts.

Oh and on Saturday he bought me my digital camera! He said it isn't a Mother's Day present because he's been telling me I could get one since we got married 2 years ago. But he wanted me to have it before the baby is born.

He's so sweet!

3_call_me_mama replied: I think i already post this but I got a Hammock from DH and the kids. He gave it to me friday night. We went to brunch on sunday with my mom, and brother and SIL and my great aunt who's like my grandma. It was nice but Cameron CHOKED while we were eating, adn fell out fo his chair, so it didn't go overly well. THen we had a birthday party to attend adn then we rearranged the house...

DH got me a card adn one from kathleen. Cameron refused to pick oput a card or sign one for me cause i'm not a mother, mothers are old people and i am his mommy, not old

But did sing happy mother's day to me in the tune to happy birthday! He's a riot!

I'm with you Tracy! DH did make me breakfast in bed, but I got a card that was actually a Thank You card that was already in our "cards for when you don't go out and buy one" stash in the closet. So yes, I suppose thank you is nice, but Happy Mother's Day would make me feel like he actually put some thought into it. Anyway, DH took a nap and played on the computer most of the day while I did what I do most days...chores and take care of Wil. We went for a walk together in the late afternoon and went to Sears to look at lawn mowers even though he said we're strapped for cash...somehow money pops up when we need a mower! Woohooo! I told him I was disappointed that he hadn't planned more. He said sorry. I should be satisfied with breakfast, but it was food I had bought last week, so nothing was much of a surprise...pancakes and mimosas would have been nice!! I did get new furniture last week, so DH said that was my gift. It's not like I expect big gifts, but planning a day together or taking Wil off my hands would have been nice!

My2Beauties replied: I got a card from Daddy and Hanna with some money inside. I sooooo wanted a Digi Camera but Brian couldn't afford it with the wedding being in less than 2 weeks. So I told him to just get me a card or something, he said he felt so bad because he couldn't afford the cam but it was no biggie, all that matters is we'll be husband and wife in less than 2 weeks!

Boys r us replied: Well, I had a really crappy mother's day...lol..sorry to be the first to say that..
But at least I'm laughing about it now!

I got a really cute card from the kids and a gift card for a spa. and DH cleaned the entire house for me while I layed on the couch and did nothing..which was good b/c we had a little too much fun the night before...well I won't say fun considering Rick and I didn't even speak to each other all day sunday..but..whatever! Haaa..there's always next year!

My SIL came over and brought me a card and 2 beautiful candles and a jar of yankee candle potpouri.

mckayleesmom replied: I don't know what I got yet. It was sent to my moms house in Arizona and won't be there till tomorow...Im in California right now. I think its a mothers ring or necklace possibly because he asked about their birthstones.

DH was sweet all weekend, letting me actually eat my food without any interuptions from the kids, take a shower slower tham mock speed, didn't have to mow, it was great. We even eatched a movie Saturday night and we haven't been able to do that in ages. It was just a wonderful weekend despite the kids fussiness and DH not feeling well.

DH got me the breastpump I've been wanting for so long and a card from him with the best letter ever from him. It made me cry. And a card from the girls. It was so sweet of DH to buy the pump for me but I told him I'm going to take it back cuz my other pump still works fine and it cost $350 that Iknow we don't have. He was so sweet about it.
