what are you getting the kids...

kimberley wrote: for christmas?? since we have so many selfless parents, maybe more will share what "Santa" is bringing the little ones happy.gif

CantWait replied: Robbie I have NO IDEA yet. The only thing I've gotten him so far is a Spongebob Alarm Clock, and a couple stocking stuffers.

Anthony will be getting a doctors kit, some home depot kids tools, and a cash register with money.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I'm not sure yet...poor guy didn't get anything from mom and dad for his birthday because we knew he would get so many toys from his grandparents. So maybe a wagon or swingset...something I can use with him outside. Or maybe Gymboree classes, although that's more for me I guess! rolleyes.gif

kimberley replied: we are planning to get Jade the Dora kitchen set. she is gonna go nuts when she sees it! happy.gif

Jacob, i am thinking of trying to get the 3 egyptian god cards from yu gi oh. or else b damon is big now.

James, i have no clue... have to wait to get the sears book and see what he picks smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: We are only tossing ideas around now but for Kylie we did get her a Step 2 desk at a consignment shop (looks BRAND NEW and lots cheaper than new tongue.gif ). Not sure how excited she'll be about it but she could use one. I'm not sure what else. I have ideas though, like play make-up for her stocking; the reading Carebear/books, clothes/pjs that she really needs, I did get her the Candyland game for $3 at Walmart tongue.gif , something Cinderella or Barbie. Not real sure yet. blush.gif

Megan is pretty easy since she's only going to be 9 months. I think we are definitely getting her a convertible carseat. Thank goodness she won't know better. tongue.gif But since Kylie will know better that Santa must be being mean to sissy, then we'll get her some kind of toy, maybe some kind of push toy. Not sure.

I really need to get serious about this since I'm here alone and it's going to be hard to do the shopping with the girls. wacko.gif When I picked up the desk at the consignment shop last weekend I had to tell Kylie that it was for someone else but maybe Santa would bring her one too. tongue.gif She looked at me strange so she probably doesn't want one. laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
The Dora Kitchen Set made the Holiday Hot Dozen Toy List so chances are that it will be hard to find around the Holidays. You might want to snag it up if you see it or order it online early. It looks so cute, what little girl wouldn't want it!

MommyToAshley replied: The only thing I know for sure that I am getting Ashley won't cost me anything but time. I did a website for a client that is a contractor and he recently needed some updates. I made an offer that I would do the updates to his website in trade for a playhouse like the one he built his granddaughter. It worked out to be about the same costs, so he agreed! YIPPPEEE! It's so cute, here's a picture of the one he made his granddaughter. Ashley's will be the same except it will say Ashley and not Emily. I might go with lavendar instead of pink too since purple is her favorite color. (Oh, and I don't like the flooring. wink.gif ) Anyways, here's a pic:

MommyToAshley replied: Here's the side view. I am so excited. Ashley loves the little playhouses, but I could never justify buying her one because they are so expensive. And, I was never able to find one in good used condition. So, this is the perfect solution.

Boys r us replied: Man, I don't have a clue really!

Tanner, I know I'm getting him a Flat screened monitor for the PC in his room. Other than that...I don't know yet!

Braedon, we're getting him a new battery operated ride on toy b/c he's about worn out his john Deer and also when his cousin comes over, they fight over it..so now we'll have too. we're thinking about a mini monster truck (grave digger) or a big ford truck like daddy's.

Other than that for Brae..I don't have a clue either..other than some more thomas stuff!

ammommy replied: dunno.gif Alec's bday is next week so we'll see what is missing from his list. He really wants Dora's Talking House so maybe that will be a joint gift for the kids. I think that we are getting him the shake and go race cars. They look really fun. And maybe a globe or telescope.
As for Megan, we have no clue. 2yo toys are hard to find.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I would like to get the kids a joint gift...a nice swingset for the backyard (wooden fort thing). wink.gif Other than that, I don't have a clue. They have WAY too many toys and only play with a handful of them. I can't see spending a lot of $$ on toys. Maddie loves dresses so I will probably buy some clothes. dunno.gif

luvbug00 replied: we are getting Mya the v-smile pocket thing and we are going to snag it ASAP!! wink.gif ( thanks for the list Dee Dee smile.gif )

Umm she will get a rack of stuff from the grandparents too so that's all we can think of for now..

toady_buckshot_noodle replied: Tristan: Leapster Lmax and several games, A laser dart gun set, his B-day is 12/23 and he's getting a new bike for that.

AnaBeth: Step 2 Kitchen, We looked at the dora one but liked this better, My First Leap Pad and Several games

Tori: Nice keyboard, she plays piano, and a mushroom chair for her room.

It is all on lay away except for the keyboard and We'll see if I can get it paid for biggrin.gif

owensmomma replied: We're getting Owen a wagon, Little People Around the Garage, and some smaller toys -- to be determined as we're not entirely sure yet what else to get him. He's going to be so spoiled by all family members this Christmas, it's not even funny.

coasterqueen replied: Dee, the playhouse is so darling! I know Menards around here sells one that looks exactly like that except it's not painted and doesn't have that type of flooring. Very cute!

Kaitlin'smom replied: I have a few things I have picked up here and there but I not sure how much I already have and with her birthday 3 days later I always buy more and keep a few things back, excpet this year she already got her big birthday gift so she will just get a couple other things. as for christmas clothes a few toys since her grandpartens love to spoil her I dont have to get much.

oh she wants the dora kitchen as well laugh.gif

3xsthefun replied: I'm not really sure yet. I know one small thing we will get for the girls and that is the Cinderella movie. But other then that I really have not thought about it.

mckayleesmom replied: I know

Mckaylee is getting a kitchen and a shopping cart to go with it...new bedding....thats it so far

Russell....haven't a clue.

jcc64 replied: Well, we just got done with birthday season (my kids' b-days are all within 3 wks of each other), so I really don't want to even think about Christmas already, but I guess it's good to start early and spread out the credit card damage.
Alec is 13. Desperately wants more memory for his computer- not very exciting, and a season pass for snowboarding.
Noah is 10. Playstation games all the way.
Corey- although she's a tiny little pinky girly girl- the only toys she plays with regularly are matchbox cars. Probably those, and some brio train tracks to add to her brother's hand me downs.

Really trying not to go nuts this year. Tired of being in debt.

My2Beauties replied: Dee Dee, does this man do that for a living? If so, does he have a website or anything, that is absolutely adorable!

Anyways I have to go through Hanna's toys first and throw some out before I can think about new ones laugh.gif Anywhoo, I am going to get Hanna a toddler bed wub.gif she is getting too big bawling.gif Some clothes, a potty training baby doll that wets herself, some Leap Frog learning toys and that's probably about it.

For Desiree we're not too sure, definitely clothes, probably some jewelry, maybe like a necklace or a ring or something, and I'm sure some electronic thing, like she wants something similar to a Gameboy every year, maybe some games for her Gameboy or something

We need to get her wish list to Santa.

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: We have no idea yet. Since her birthday is Nov. 14th we have to wait and see what everyone gets her. wacko.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: I agree with jcc64... I'm going to try to limit the spending this year. It's funny, my husband and I always said "our child is not going to be bought everything the toy stores sell," yet we've gone WAY overboard each year so far. This year we've realized it though and decided to try to keep it to a minimum. Not that we don't want him to have nice things and fun toys, but I just see so many kids that take it for granted that they will get whatever it is they want with no real appreciation for it. I know he's only just 3, but I want him to really appreciate the things he has. It really hit home yesterday when he left a ball outside. I told him he needed to put it in the toy box (on the porch) so it wouldn't get ran over. He said, "it'll be ok, we'll get another one." ohmy.gif This is not how I want him to think. So, anyway, I'm off on a tangent! Sorry!
I think we'll get him a hand-held educational video game (any suggestions?), and a mattress set (we have the frame/headboard) for his new bed, and a bed set for it. Maybe a few small things. I don't know. See, I feel like we're going overboard already! wacko.gif rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

My2Beauties replied:
That is my Hanna's b'day and my Desiree's too! They have the same b'day wub.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: I have to do better than I am doing I promise..

Brittany... cowboy boots, broomstick skirts, cd's, make up, nice perfume.. and one nice piece of jewerly.

Tiffany.. ???? clothes and cd's. Perfume and jewelry too. Not sure what else.

Justin.. new pants, and ????? he is the hardest for me. Xbox games??

Tanner.. pants pants pants..and PBR rodeo arena he wants.

The kids are saying what about Christmas Momma.. I say yes kids what about it.. what are you getting Momma this year!

ediep replied: wow!!! DeeDee that playhouse is awesome!!!!!

Jason is getting a big boy bed from santa, I think

Other than that, I have no idea

3_call_me_mama replied: WElllllll DH surprised us with a trip to Disney Dec 4-9 so that is gonna put a big bite on XMAS funds but Cameron is SO DYING to go to disney that we figured it'll be well spent. Plus i have Cameron's birthday in 2 weeks that is all done but other people may get him some stuff that we had thought of for xmas.

For xmas we are just about done
Cameron got: 2 leapster games, mini trampoline, scooby doo alarm clock, read with me DVD and a book for it
Kathleen got: graco baby set (highchair, pack n play, stroller swing etc), little people van, wiggles dance mat, doll bottles and a puzzle for her littel touch leap pad.
Joint gift: child sized piano (a real one that comes with song books and such), sleds

We might pick up a coupel more things like : new ice skates for cameron and another little people set for Kathleen. BUt depends on what grandparents get cause they go overboard.
My mom so far has gotten Cameron a guitar, a BC builders thing and some clothes. MIL got kathleen a littel arm chair with ottoman thing and some doll stuff and they haven't really started shopping.

~KARA~ replied: Tatums bday is in 2 weeks so everything that I had ordered she will be getting for her bday not christmas since it already came in.
But this is the stuff that I have for them already
Tatum- chapter books, and magnetics(kid loves to build stuff)
Maddison- Dora books, timker bell purse, a lil pc, plug n play game(plugs right in to the tv)
Kaden- peek a blocks, roll arounds, 5 in 1 wooden playset, stacking cups and lil books that have velcro on teh end to fasten to his car seat/bouncy seat.

Thats it so far hopefully Ill be completly doen with in the next few weeks.

I want to get all 3 of them bean bag chairs but dont know where we would store them.

chloe&tysmommy replied: Dee Dee, that playhouse is adorable!!! Chloe has a plastic barbie playhouse and she LOVES it...and anytime kids come over that is the first thing they play with happy.gif

I'm not going to go overboard this year...but then again I always say that blush.gif

For Chloe: some "look and find" books (she loves these), computer games, kitty poster or puzzle so we can frame for her room, dora matching game, barbie laptop and maybe a couple dvd's...that's all I have for now

Ty: big tonka loader (he already has the dump truck), a little tool set and maybe a little work bench, wooden puzzles, aquadoodle, books, a little black cowboy hat and daddy wants to get him some John Deere shirts and a hat rolleyes.gif

I love Christmas tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

ilovemybaby replied: We already got Abbys Christmas present. We just got her the Baby Amore doll. It was $44.65 and we don't have alot of money and we have decided that we will only be giving her one present for her birthday and for Christmas each year. For her birthday we gave her the Leapfrog ABC Caterpillar. We know that she will be spoiled by her grandparents so she will get enough presents from them! At Christmas time she got sooo many presents! Her room is basically full and she is only 17 months old! I told Paul that we would have to give some toys away eventually otherwise we wouldn't have any room left for her new toys each year...
I thought that this year would be a good time since she is too young to understand and next year we could tell her that there are lots of poor people that don't have the money to buy presents for their kids and that we think it would be very nice of her to give some of her toys that she doesn't play with anymore to them... I hope it will work!

ions_momma replied:
Thats my b-day too!! biggrin.gif

ions_momma replied: We havent decided what we are going to get Ion yet for Christmas this year. He has mentioned a few things though.

mummy2girls replied: My mom and dad is getting jenna that dora kitchen set.. with some extra food to go with it.

Im gettign her some accesories to her doll..such as a playpen, diapers, brushes, etc
I want to get her a shopping cart to go with her kitchen, and an apron.

Ill also get her another dolly and some stocking stuffers:)

holley79 replied: I LOVE that playhouse. I will have to show the future grandpa and see if one can be made in the future.

As for Brandon (17 years old). I have no clue at all. He threw a fit, like a little two year old, because we said we would see about the new X Box / PSP I can't remember which one it is. The only reason we said we would see was to try and get some other ideas from him. Needless to say DH, his ex wife and myself have said NO WAY to that gift.

Any suggestions??????? It would be greatly appreciated. I told DH we could get him a JOB for Christmas. dry.gif Sorry hormonal and cranky, that's me. wacko.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Well, if they keep acting the way they have been...they will get nothing! growl.gif

Ok, I'm totally lying. DH and I have agreed to get one gift each for the girls and then Santa will get one for each of them too. That doesn't count the stocking stuffers but those will be pretty small. I think my mom is leaning towards a keyboard for K and MIL is going to replenish art supplies.

I already got Katherine a doctor play kit. Cinderella will go in her stocking along with candy, a barbie, maybe an educational computer game and some cash.

I'm not sure what Lauren will get. blush.gif

Their playroom is full so no more large toys. After we get to go through and toss some of the baby stuff (why does that take up so much room?) I want to get one of those two sided eisles (can't spell that to save my life) since K likes crafts so much.

We have gone so far overboard the last few years that we really want to pare down this year. It doesn't hurt that MIL & FIL will be here for christmas & they already think that the girls are way too spoiled. sad.gif
