wedding update...

i have been shopping for the bridesmaid dresses and one ugly dress after another, i think i may have found one on ebay. the church is a huge problem. they still won't answer me either way and we ended up missing the marriage classes because of a lack of babysitter and funds. they are $180 for two 3hr sessions . but from what i gather.. they are ONLY going to do a validation.. which means no "real" ceremony . so, i called the united church near me (gorgeous church) and they said the dates available, they will do a full ceremony and we can take pics on their grounds after because it is gorgeous! only downside... it will cost $800 as opposed to the catholic church which was donation only (prolly 200-300). i think we are going to go with the united church and *if* i want, DH has agreed to take the necessary steps for the validation by the catholic church later down the road.

my dad is making me nervous about the honeymoon, but he wants to wait until a couple of weeks before and book it. oh well, he has worked at the airlines for 30+yrs so i guess i trust him.

we also booked the bar for our stag and doe on June 4th. that should be fun. now i have to get my butt in gear to get the tickets printed! that's about all i can think of and this is already too long thanks for reading.

I'm sorry you aren't getting married in a Catholic church. I know that was very important to you. Glad Dh will go along with you later to do so though.

kimberley replied: stag and doe, jack and jill, stag/stagette party... all the same. it is just one big party instead of a bridal shower and stag. we charge $10/ticket and have prizes, games and give aways. people usually make quite a bit of money at them we will need it now that we have to pay so much for a church.

as for the church, yeah i am disappointed but i really think this is the only solution right now. i am really upset with the beauracratic BS i am getting from them and the gold digging . the catholic church has lost so many followers over the years and you would think the one's they have left, they wouldn't try to push away. they are VERY condescending to me every time i call and i am emotionally drained from it. besides, God is in every church, right?!

mammag replied: Good luck on getting it all settled. Sorry you didn't get what you were hoping for with the church. My sister had to go through the whole validation thing with her husband and she said it wasn't so bad.

yes that is from ebay. they have a set of 3 adult dresses for $150US + shipping and to order the children's size (i have a jr bridesmaid) will cost me about $60US + shipping.
