verbal outburst

luvbug00 wrote: As I mentioned before the said venue we are booking this weekend is only permitting 50 people.
8-50 is quite a jump..no?
so this breaks down to 21 each not including wedding party.
How am I supposed to do this?
I did not want this big of a wedding because people would feel left out. Jon just seems excited about an audience. He is already compromising by not having a traditional big wedding, I'd feel bad for not compromising as well. I'm just having a really hard time breaking it down. I do not like hurting feelings and stuff.

next issue. dress I wanted is a no go. She has the dress on estay cheaper but it's a sample and comes as is, which is in my $ but I dunno what "as is" means.. refuses to budge on the online price for a new gown that is without bust decor.. I'm really trying to stick to the budget so I have to say goodbye to that one
sleep.gif which stinks because i loved it.

I feel like I cant do anything!! No reception/after party location is set in stone. No guest list is set in stone. I want to get invites out because it's such short notice as is. I have a couple girlfriends who are helping with my dress (they booked me several fitting apt on their own after hearing about my dress idea falling threw) and flowers. Which i appreciate so much.
I'm just feeling like things need to get done and they aren't. I'm not saying much to the donkey about it because I want him to have a happy experience with this.

Honestly I liked my 8 person wedding Idea and this is why!!! I'm just tired of being whined at. If I hear "I'm not invited?? why this or that??" *in a sad disappointing voice* one more time....

However I have to remember this is Jons wedding too and again he wants an audience. Since his parents are not coming I feel like I owe him at least that.

mckayleesmom replied: Why don't you just book a trip to Las Vegas? That is what we did. We told everyone where and when and if they could afford it...we would be happy to see them there and if they couldn't...well..they couldn't. This way all we had to worry about was booking the chapel, getting the licence when we got to Vegas and showing up on time. I bought my dress and leithan wore his dress blues. After the ceremony everyone was free to do what they wanted to do. Alot of us went to the pool afterwards.

Also..a Las vegas Ceremony doesn't have to be cheesy....Ours was held in a pretty traditional chapel. There were other options, but we chose tradition over Elvis... rolling_smile.gif

We had a great time...everyone else had a great time. The best wedding is a stress free one.

Our Lil' Family replied: Wellll.....I don't know how to help you with your guest list other than just keep it to closest friends??? Or just let Jon invite the majority and you do family only?

As for the dress....don't stress....there are TONS out there! I'm sure you'll find another one you love just as much.

boyohboyohboy replied: Nayda, have you looked on craigslist? I see wedding dresses on their all the time or fancy dresses you could alter any way you want too.

I also have a very small wedding under 30 people. Most of the people were my husbands friends..my family didnt attend and his family did...
if you feel that the audience is for him, then let him fill up the venue with his guests and you just stick to a BFF and your family...That way no one else will get their feelings hurt.

Our consignment shop also had tons of prom dresses and fancy dresses last time I was there..maybe somewhere like that just to take a look?

msoulz replied: I will say it again.

It is YOUR wedding.

This should be a time of happiness for you, not stress and discomfort.

How about that Vegas suggestion?? wink.gif

PrairieMom replied: So, does this mean I can come? unsure.gif rolling_smile.gif

PrairieMom replied:
ITA. YOUR wedding. Anyone who loves you enough to be invited should be understanding.
Sorry about the dress. Thats a bummer. Can you ask her what "as is " means?

My3LilMonkeys replied: Sorry it's getting so stressful...that sucks!!!

I am stuck at home with a sick kid and majorly procrastinating cleaning, so here's a few dress options similar to the one you were looking at but cheaper:

This one has beading on the bodice but the same skirt

This one is less poufy, and again beaded, but really pretty

Again with the beading....I hope you don't hate beading or I'm probably just driving you crazy rolling_smile.gif

This one won't really zoom in close enough to see details, but it's super poufy!

luvbug00 replied: you guys are the best emlaugh.gif hug.gif

If any of you can/will be in the DC/MD/VA area aug. 20th PM me your address. I 'd love to have you there!

MommyToAshley replied: Don't fret about the dress... once you go to the bridal shops, you will see that they have every dress imaginable in every price range. You will find one that you love just as much, trust me.

And, I agree with the others, this is your wedding.... people said that to me and I still stressed about all the same things. Trying to make sure the feelings of family members weren't hurt so they could all be in the wedding, who wasn and wasn't invited, down to what color the tablecloths were. Looking back, I would have been just as happy if we had eloped because that day was about marrying the man that I love and none of that other stuff matters. The best advice I can give you is to keep the focus on what really matters, you'll be so much happier and anyone that gets their feelings hurt will get over it. (((((hugs)))))

PrairieMom replied:

Just gotta keep workin on ya and workin on ya till you break down. tongue.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: Why don't you invite only those closest to you, then let him invite the rest? You don't have to have the same number of guests.
I also suggest you hit consignment stores and wedding dress places.... you'll be surprised what can find. smile.gif
Now try to relax, focus on what the day is really about, and enjoy it! <3

Evie replied:
I have to agree. Let's face it, we can't make EVERYONE happy.

The sooner you can accept that, the sooner you will be happy yourself smile.gif

Wish you all the best ! CHEERS! thumb.gif
