update on the new house

How's the addition?

C&K*s Mommie replied: These updates are kind of like that show that came on HGTV called "Before & After", only they shortened the 6mos or so it takes, down to an hour long show.

Great looking house that is coming along! Is everything on schedule?? Has the weather slowed the contractors down, any??

KingMom replied: Well, the addition has been slow lately. They are working on the interior walls this week. The we have to get the rough inspections before we can do plumbing, electric, and then drywall.

We'll see, it's seems to be going so slow now!

coasterqueen replied: Looks great! I have to ask, the concrete part, will that be covered with dirt? I was just trying to picture where the door is at, etc.

Yes the concrete part is our basement and will be backfilled about another 2 feet or so. Our basement sets high because of the walkout in the back. The front door is right in the middle of the house see it

Yeah I saw it, I was just confused on all the concrete showing. That's a lot of backfill. We had to do a TON of backfill on one side of our house. The floor of the house stood up taller than my husband. IT was a mess.

mom2tripp replied: Yes it is a lot of backfill but we really had no choice. We wanted the house in that exact spot on the hill and our walkout in the back caused all the PROBLEM. Do you think it looks awkward?

mom2tripp replied: We are going to have a full front porch so you won't see any of the concrete in the front
