ughhhhhh

It's 3am..I'm snuggled under my nice warm comforter cuddled up beside my husband in the bed sleeping so contently...the sound of the bedroom door opening jars me from my sleep, just a little, then the sound of a crying child awakens me completely. My eyes open to see two little eyes staring at me, "Mommy I puked". This is not good, this means I must harvest the energy to drag myself out of the bed. I look at the clock, yep, it really is 3am, "couldn't you have puked at a more convenient time?" I mutter to myself, in my own head of course, a good mommy would never say that out loud. So I do it, I get up...ripping all of the covers off of the bed with me so that my dear sweet husband would freeze and not be sleeping soundly while I was up playing in vomit He got up too. We slowly creep down the hallway and up the stairs. I cut the light on to see, it's everywhere..on the top bunk where he was sleeping, on the bottom bunk where it landed, in the floor. A lone tear went down my cheek as I turned to DH and whined that I couldn't do this. But I went to the bathroom and rummaged through the cleaner in the closet, finding the most potent scrub I could find. I knelt down on the floor and began spraying...spraying and scrubbing, spraying and scrubbing, scrubbing and spraying. Then Rick says in a sleepen haze, "I've never had to do this before?" In amazement I turn to respond to him, "DO WHAT BEFORE?? You're not doing ANYTHING except STANDING THERE?" The guilt must have set in b/c he started ripping the sheets off of the bed..and then he says"what should I do with this stuff? throw it away?"
"Ahh..No..that's what they made the washing machine for"
We get it all clean and wonder back down the hallway, back down the stairs and back to our bed, just as I pulled the covers up over me, there were those two little eyes again..peering at me," Did you get it clean mom?" "Yes honey, go get in Braedon's bedroom and go night night" " I can't, I threw up all over his bed too"
and well..the saga continues...I got up and looked in braedon's room...he was laying in it..all over braedon..all over the floor..all over the bed........
This morning I feel like it was all just a really really bad nightmare...but what I wouldn't give right now to go back to sleep!
Sunflower04 replied: OMG! What a nightmare. As I was reading your story I was thinking this must be a joke... Is your son feeling better today? I hope your day goes better.
ediep replied: OMG!!! How horrible!! I would be crying!! Poor guy, I hope he is better soon!
MomToMany replied: I really feel for you Nichole; BTDT quite a few times! I hope he's feeling better. You're lucky your DH got up at all; mine wouldn't.
kimberley replied: oh no! there is nothing worse than puke at 3am!! hope he is feeling better and you get a nap today.
My2Beauties replied: Ohhh I"m so sorry! Is he feeling better today?
amynicole21 replied: Oh no! Poor little guy (and Mommy, too!) I hope he's feeling better and that you can get some sleep soon.
coasterqueen replied: Oh how horrible!!!!!! Hope he feels better soon and you can catch up on your sleep.
BTW, when Kylie had the flu last year that is exactly what I asked DH if we could do...throw the bedclothes away. DH wouldn't let me. If he wasn't there I would have. I just can't deal with puke. Ugh.
Kaitlin'smom replied: awww I hope he is feeling better. At least your DH got up mine probably would not have, he cant deal with puke. I fear the day kaitlin does puke on him cause I know he will puke back, they oh what a mess I will have. Now for the 'should we thorw them away' I am sooo sorry but OMG how funny, I was utterly cracking up.
I hope you can find time to nap today
Boys r us replied: Oh and after all of the cleaning, I still found the energy to be a smart A$$! We were laying int he bed and Rick says, well does his stomach still hurt him and I was like..well I guess so, he just finished puking all over the house!! and I was like Why..and makes some stupid comment about he was just trying to diagnose him and then he said, he probably has the flu..and I said well ACTUALLY, the flu has nothing to do with a stomach ache, it's an upper resp thing (thanks Karen) and he says, Yeah I know.. I said well...so he's puking and you think he has the flu??? If that's the case you need to quit diagnosing people! HAAAAAAAA

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh no!!!! I feel so badly for you! I hope Tanner is better today. You need to go home and get some rest this evening. Order take out and go to bed early!
When Maddie is sick she comes to our room (on DH's side) and says "Daddy, I'm gonna throw up!" I tell her to get to the bathroom and throw up in the toilet. I dont' think she has ever thrown up in her bed or anyplace other than the toilet. Scotty will go in there and hold her hair back while she pukes and then he washes her face. He won't let me do anything. AND this is all from a man who HATES throw up and has the WEAKEST stomach ever!! So Di, you never know what your DH may do for Kaitlin. I never thought Scotty would clean up puke or watch one of our children puke, but he'd do anything for Maddie.
Kaitlin'smom replied: that is so sweet of your DH, I know mine could not handle it he about throws up the few times he has changed her poppy diper, its kinda funny to listen to him about hurl but I get so afraid he might actually puke on her. She has thrown up on me a few times as a baby, the one time really bad he saw that and about lost it, so not only did I have to clean her up, me up and the couch oh well maybe when she gets older.
Boys r us replied: Now if Rick couldn't handle the poopy diapers..I'd divorce him!! LOL Stomach whoes or not!!! I laid that law down in the hospital, the first time Brae had a poopy, I looked at rick and said..have at it..you better get used to it!
paradisemommy replied: oh man..what a bummer. hope he is feeling better..and thanks for the good laugh - your stories and comments to your dh just crack me up!! though i had to cringe at the cleaning up and finding it everywhere part..
A&A'smommy replied: OH NO poor kids (and especially POOR MOMMY and daddy!!!) I hope he is feeling better and I'm sorry you had to get out your comfy bed to clean up the puke BTW I love how you made a story out of that your too funny!
bucky replied: omg thats rough!!
Although, I'm sorry, i couldn't help buy laugh at the last part.. when he puked all over the other room as well. I dread the day when this might happen in our home, my SO has a weak stomach and I know I'll be the one cleaning up.
My2Beauties replied: Hanna's poopy diapers have made me gag a few times but I just hold my breath and keep changing. I'm the one with the weak stomach in our house. Brian can chagne the nastiest poopiest diaper, me I'm like hey dad, Hanna's got something for you! But I do change poopy diapers just not the ones where she poops all the way up her back
bucky replied: That's only happened twice so far, where theres poop all the way up the back.. and both times its happened to me.... someday my SO will get it! lol
Josie83 replied: O poor Tanner! And poor you as well for having to clean it up. he sounds like he was so distressed! I hope you managed to catch up on your sleep okay xx
