the REAL mothers day

it is only 11:16am and i have helped make breakfast, did dishes, cleaned the floor, tended to screaming children, threw in a load of laundry and general tidy up. 
i did get presents the boys made at school, a bouquet of flowers from dh and lots of hugs and kisses  they are taking me out for lunch shortly and then i have to do the grocery shopping and finish the laundry 
oh to be a mom......... 
Calimama replied: My DH hasn't even remembered to say "Happy Mother's Day" yet, and it's 2pm for him.
mom2my2cuties replied: Well lets see...It's 1042am here. I have been up, dealt with sir cranky pants extreme, hand to deal with a fire alarm at the hotel that sent us all out in the street in our pajamas because some punk kid decided it would be funny to pull the alarm.
Now my cranky pants is in bed sleeping, I just got out of the shower and am trying to decide what we should do today.
CantWait replied:  I got up at 7:00 am, gave Anthony a small bowl of cereal since I thought dh was going to make breakfast. By 9:10 Anthony was still starving, so I got up and put the bacon in the pan, cracked a few eggs and then Ron stepped in. He cleaned most of the mess, then I cleaned the rest. There's still dishes that need to be put away. I swept the floors, tidied the bathroom, and started the laundry.
We went for a walk and caught some minnows.
I WILL be making my own dinner tonight, full steak dinner also so there will be a lot of mess for me to clean. Not a very good Mother's Day in my opinion.
amymom replied: Well, I guess I am one of the lucky ones. (YEsterday was crazy, it was our anniversary but we had a ton of teens here, with loud music and craziness.... I will get to that thread sometime soon)
This morning I awoke at 5:30 as usual, and had my peacful morning with the computer and my tea. My husband burnt his English Muffin, so I got to eat that .. I do like them more toasted than he does. Then about 9 I woke both kids, and DH mentioned he forgot cards for me and Mom, so I gave him three cards for the kids to sign to me and Grandma. (I was prepared!) One for him and I to give to Grandma. Then we (the kids & I) went to our church and Lee took Grandma to her church. (He does usually come with us, but since it was mother's day he took her.) Then after church we went to a local restaurant for their Mom's day buffet. Grandma treated, she would not let us pay. So big savings there. Then we just got home and MB gave me a picture of her that she framed at school as a gift for me. And I washed some glasses the kids left around and I made Ice Tea and Lemonade for the 10 teens that showed up waiting for Billy to get home!!!
Oh forgot to add... I NEVER cook on Sunday nights so no more cooking for me, although I may make some Strawberry shortcakes!!

The kids and Ed made me breakfest then I got 2 wonderful gifts

amynicole21 replied: We went to a town about a half hour away to take a "scenic train ride" which actually went through mostly trailor parks and run-down areas. Then we got back to the truck and the battery was dead. We were out in the horrible heat for hours trying to get some help and finally got it jumped and made it to the car parts store for a new battery. Woo hoo!
DH made dinner and breakfast though (nothing unusual there - I never cook  ) and I got beautiful framed pics of the girls
kit_kats_mom replied: I had a pretty good day. both girls woke me up and they were in good moods, which is my favorite. I made coffee and did a load of laundry then woke DH up since it was 9. He made breakfast (homemade pancakes -I made the dry stuff yesterday for him-eggs-bacon and sausage) and he cleaned up. The girls gave me the cards they'd made for me. Katherine drew a beluga whale. LOL
We all got showered and went to Tarpon Springs which is a big greek community down here. We did a little shopping, took a long boat ride around the gulf, had some ice cream and baklava cheese cake YUM!!! Then we drove to the beach and spent about an hour chasing hermit crabs in the water until K got stung by a floating jelly fish tentacle. The fun ended there. My little drama queen was ready to head home. Now Woody, MIL and the kids are watching a movie while I check the board and work.
While we were on the boat, K turned around and said "Mom, this is the best day ever! It's like a dream come true! Happy mothers Day, I love you!!" 
Oh and Woody just changed a giant gross poopy diaper. The day is now perfect.
luvmykids replied: Started off in a very un-mother like way LOL The kids were grumpy, we were late to church because I couldn't find the pair of socks that are suddenly THE pair he likes Finally got a mismatched pair on him then walking out the door DH decided he didn't want to go  The kids and I went anyway.
After, we were supposed to go to my moms but needed DH's truck for that (since all six of us don't fit in my car) but the battery was dead and wouldn't jump. So my wonderful parents packed everything up and brought it here. In the mean time I vacuumed, mopped and dusted the first floor, folded two loads of laundry, and headed up to the girls' room to make a spot for the new bed my parents were bringing Macie.
I got a canvas tote bag from Kylie with her handprints on it (which she gave me first thing so I could use it for church ) and a bottle with colored tissue glued to it to look like a mosaic from Colt. When we got home from church it was filled with flowers that DH and Nikka picked. I also got flowers and two shirts from my mom and flowers from MIL 
I made lemon bars for dessert then we went outside and my parents got to watch the kids ride horses for a while.
A&A'smommy replied: Lets see Alyssa came into our room about 930 and I was still VERY tired so I was hoping dh would get up with alyssa since I had been working my butt off all weekend for recital and then danced my butt of saturday night but no I ended up getting up and I was STARVING so when i went in my room to get my stuff he was like "I will get up go back to bed" uh uh I'm hungry so i went to mcdonalds and got something to eat (its like 3 blocks from here) and when I got back he was JUST getting up and only because he heard me. Then we had a little fight because I'm tired of him not helping out on weekends... then we both got over and went over to his moms, went to walmart and spent 300 dollars on junk, then we went to my moms, got something to eat and came home and I have just been sitting in my chair watching tv... so pretty much just a normal average day minus the chores
Oh our anniversary was last thursday, I got dirty dancing 20th anniversary addition and havanna nights for that and a new cell phone for mothers day (it will be here tomorrow)

Kaitlin'smom replied: well mine was okay after all but started not good, Kaitlin woke me up calling for me, she was complaining of her legs hurting and that she could not walk it was ealry am I dunno even know what time 6 or 6:30a DH actually got out of bed and got her and put her in bed with me  she slept on and off and woke me up I dunno how much but I did NOT get to sleep in so I got up and showerd, well I was getting ready and she coudl not even walk right to the potty so I told her rest some more and once I am done I will take her to the ER at childerns, DH and I argued about that, we took her she was feeling better right after we got signed in so we did not end up being seen, DH believes she is going through growing pains like he did as a kid (working on researching this as I never experienced it) finally got to my sisters had brunch and spent most of the day entertained but the kids, had a good time, DH slept most of the time  did not even tell me he was not feeling well, but then again he did not even tell me happy mothers day 
Kaitlin did go shopping friday night and gave it to me then, card a pretty bracelet and pretty pink earrings. then I got a card from my sister.

Dh let me sleep in till 10am.

I bought dinner fed the kids
gave kids bath
cleaned the house and packed up some more.
All in all I got to sleep in till 10am that was the highlite of my day.
Oh and for my present I got a new POLO purse. Now I just gota find the wallet to match it. My best friend picked it out.
