starting the bathroom this weekend

may have finally lucked out and found a custom laminate place and he has one that will work in stock....it needs cut down on one side...said it was a customer order and they backed out....so i can have it for $80. now im looking for a nice drop in bowl in white....then i take the template to him and he will cut it out for me too. all ill have to do is install the top

so im gonna pull the bathroom door tomorrow or thursday and paint it. then sat. morning gut the bathroom and lay down the new flooring. paint the cabinet. then MAYBE paint the walls in there to surprise her. reinstall cabinet and install top with bowl and new faucet on sunday.....

hopefully all goes ok and i got a new bathroom by end of weekend.


next big thing is to redo the front walkway...and dig for flower bed around right front corenr of house.

J-rod replied: went to lowes last night and got the sink bowl, faucet set-up, new downspout for tub.

all thats left to buy is new shower head and knobs, toilet seat, and paint.

J-rod replied: 1. steph is getting batteries today so we can uplaod all the pics from digi cam of the "before" then we can take after pics

2. she is going to the laminate shop to have counter cut today. taking the template for the sink bowl.

3. yea the house is TOTALLY different inside.


4. im also going to redo the front walkway this weekend too. getting the block tomorow and gonna re-use some nice golden tan bricks for edging.

5. if time ill dig up the flower bed.

hahahah well i busted old counter off last night and nothing yey....prolly happen when im in middle of glueing new floor down. but i wouldnt mind. id make my sisters BF finish it.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: We are having to re-do our bathrooms, too. We ran into the exact same problem with our counter top. It is also 43". So we decided to do something else and go with a new cabinet entirely. But I'm glad you found one for $80...that's great!

We actually have water damage in our master b/c the drip pan on the shower is leaking so we are waiting on insurance money to put in a new shower, but we are tiling the guest bathroom this weekend.

Old houses are so much fun, eh? Good luck on your projects this weekend!

J-rod replied: bathroom shower is done. countertop and sink is in, need to go back to lowes and get adapter to plumb in the drain pipe. fix the floor and install new flooring. finish 2nd coat of paint.

once bathroom is done we will go thru and take all the current pics and ill make a pic thread of then -> now
