sooo tired.. - rant

boyohboyohboy wrote: I was not sure where to post this, because I am not so sure who is the most responsible for my lack of sleep.
There is andrew 4 months who is still getting up every 2-3hours to eat 4 ounces of formula, and then gets an upset belly because he is a hard baby to burp. and he seems to be experiencing some reflux since he was sick last week. so even when he is asleep he cries out some from the acid hurting him.

There is Jakob, who has yet to sleep thru the night at the age of 2. He is eating much better and trying harder to taste new things, but he still wakes at night to drink the pediatric drink at least once..and lately I am finding him roaming around at 230am! He doesnt seem to be sleep walking, he is just walking around.

Then there is DH, who gets up at 3am daily to go to work, and snores all night up until then..

what I wouldnt give for about 4 hours solid sleep.

thanks for listening to me rant

grandma replied:
Wow I really feel bad for you, WHEN do you get any sleep? Oh I guess you don't.
I only have advice about DH, maybe he has sleep apnia (sp?), my DH has it and since he was diagnoised, he sleeps thru the night without snoring and now so do I.

I'm sure these other women with small babies can give you some advice about the two babies....

Best of luck to ya!

Kaitlin'smom replied: first DH's snoring. most people who snore due because of sleep apnea. If possible send him to a sleep clinic let them determine it. His snoring might be effecting more than just you.

the 2 yr old, is he raoming the house? if so gate him in or something you knowing he can get out effects your sleep as well. He is 2 and will understand we dont get up and roam the house. Maybe some type of reward system to help encourage him to stay not only in bed but in his room ALL night. Now this might change if he is potty trained.

the baby, I totaly understand the lack of sleep there. I suggest maybe feeding him less at night cut back on the oz maybe only 1-2 at a time. I dunno what type of bottles you use but make sure they are not producing more bubbles and have him more upright when feeding. If your not already I would also suggest he sleeps with a wedge either under him or under the matress to help elevate him just a little, it might help.

hug.gif Is there anyone who can relieve you so you can get a good 4 hours of sold sleep? snooze.gif you NEED it. hug.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: my DH does have sleep apnea. he sleeps with a bi pap machine but in the night he frequently takes it off. and i wake him to put it back on.

my two yr old, has always gotten up, due to medical issues, its something that we kinda had to learn to deal with..
but adding a new born to that has really messed with my sleep .
i think i am only getting 1-2 hours of sleep a day.
it wasnt to bad when it was just the two yr old, but after 4 months of this its catching up.

we dont have anyone to help us out. both of our parents live far away.
so its just us....

i was just venting. i know there is no solution right now..

i guess thats what happens with kids so close i age..
there will come a time when they are older and will sleep.

Kaitlin'smom replied: might I ask does DH use a mask or just the nose piece? oh and how long has he had it?

hug.gif

is there any medical issues now with the 2yr old?

hug.gif sorry your not getting sleep I remeber how hard it was with one, I cant imiagin how hard it is with 2 that dont sleep well.

is it possible you sleep for a bit when DH gets home from work?

hug.gif I hope it gets better, and vent away.

Oh and my DH snors also, and has sleep apnea, but no machine.......so I can so I totaly know how the snooring goes.

boyohboyohboy replied: yes dh uses a nose piece. and he has had it about a yr maybe less.

jakob still does have severe food allergies, depending on what he might eat and react to, he might reflux and throw up at night..
he sometimes has belly pain.
its much better then it was, and the reactions are fewer in number...
but he does have to get up to eat some at night, or at least drink because he isnt able to consume the calories he needs during the day..we work at this daily, but its taking time.

my husband works from 3am to 6pm so the kids are primarily mine..it gets hard sometimes..

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif That's so hard! Hope you get some sleep soon!

Kaitlin'smom replied: I heard it can take a while to get used to the c-pap, but once you do you cant sleep or rest well with out it. My mom has one and after her surgery she was so restless, once we got the okay to hook up her c-pap she rested so much better. Hopefully for you he will get more used to it and he will be one less reason your not sleeping.

do the kids nap at the same time?

are you all on a schedule?

thats a long work day for DH.....

hug.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: the kids rarely nap at the same time..
jake only naps about 45 mins to one hour...if i let him sleep longer then he wont go to bed at night forever, we try to get all the kids in bed by 9pm..

i have never done CIO i really suck at letting the kids cry.
so thats half my problem. i am awake and at their bedside no matter what...

we are going to talk today about some kind of schedule so that i can take a nap at some point...

momofone replied: I've heard it helps with snoring to sleep on your side or stomach.

A&A'smommy replied: hug.gif hug.gif I'm sorry sweetie.. it SUCKS to be sleep deprived!!! Could your dh go on kid patrol on the weekends??

Sam & Abby's Mom replied:
Wow ! I TOTALLY feel for you and have no idea how you are able to function on such little sleep. hug.gif hug.gif

5littleladies replied: hug.gif I'm sorry. There's nothing so hard to deal with as lack of sleep. hug.gif
