really mad! - some people....

boyohboyohboy wrote: ok, I totally admit this is mostly my fault...i did something stupid, but i had good intentions..
I was going thru the boys clothes the other day, and found a few bins of clothes that were given to me by my church when caleb was born and i was a single mom with nothing, and it made me remember how much i appreciated it. so i decided to go thru the clothes and post them on craigs list for free. i had a large amount of clothes that were not worth selling, very faded jammies, and some not so pretty anymore, but would keep some little boy warm who had nothing..
well as you can imagine i got tons of emails..full of sob stories...so i just did what i thought was fair and picked the first person who emailed me..
well she wrote me and thanked me and asked me when she could come and told me how much her little boy needed clothes.. i emailed her back to come and then she wrote for me to email her my address so she could punch it into her NAVAGATION SYSTEM....and told me what kind of lexus she has so i would know it was her when she pulls up!!!!

i was like, crap, she doesnt need these clothes, i wanted to give them to someone who NEEDED them.
she is just to lazy to get her kid some.

luvmykids replied: That stinks, but your intentions are good hug.gif Could you email her back and tell her a friend of yours needs them and you're going to give them to her instead?

amynicole21 replied: Aw man, that does stink sad.gif

MommyToAshley replied: mad.gif Grrrr! That would upset me as well. You had good intentions -- I know what you mean about wanting them to go to someone that needs them.

We always give ours to the Salvation Army or Viet Nam Vets -- they come and pick them up so I hope they are put to good use. Sometimes we save them for a Church garage sale.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
That's what I would do!

msoulz replied: dry.gif That is disappointing.

We have been passing along Erin's stuff to a 19 year old single mom who lives with her parents and I know she really needs the stuff so it feels really good. Her daughter is about 14 months younger than Erin so it works out extremely well. Before she came along we dontated all of the infant stuff to a local crisis pregnancy center and they sure appreciated it too.

momtoMegan&Alyxandria replied: Does she know how much you have. If she doesn't than I would just give her some of it and then decide what you want to do with the rest. Something I have tried to do was to donate them to the woman's shelter. They told me that since they didn't need them right then if I took them to the Salvation Army if anyone came in and they didn't have exactly what they needed they gave them vouchers for the Salvation Army to get what they needed. We also have several churches that do the same thing your church did for you. You could always try there too.

My2Beauties replied: That stinks dry.gif I'm so sorry, I know you had good intentions. I'd give her some of the clothes and then repost them!

lovemy2 replied: I agree - give her a REALLY small bag of the clothes - then pick someone else that emailed OR I always try to give my stuff to places that GIVE the items to people in need - not necessarily someplace that resells them - even though I know VOA, etc. do use the money for good things....

Nice job though - paying it forward hug.gif hug.gif

avory&samsmom replied: I understand why you're angry, I would be too. mad.gif
But what you did was an amazing act of kindness. You should still be mad at the lady mad.gif but be very proud of yourself happy.gif

The world needs more people like you in it smile.gif

DansMom replied: Is there a chance she's getting the clothes for someone else? It's possible. I would feel good about my own intentions and assume the best. You didn't throw the clothes away, which would have been a waste---they will be used again, and that's great.

A&A'smommy replied: yikes hun I would have been upset too!!!

gr33n3y3z replied: I would have told her if your driving that you dont need these
Thats how those ppl. get what they get they cheat everyone else out of it and it ticks me off
