quick!! need opinions
ediep wrote: ok, so for Emma's birthday I ordered a throne chair for her. It was waaayy too expensive but I got it anyway because we were having a princess party theme and I figured it would be cute. Plus she can use it for years to watch TV or in her room. Anyway, the company sent 2, even though I paid for 1. (the silly chair was 79.99)
I told DH that they ripped us off anyway by charging so much for a foam chair so I am keeping them both, DH said thats wrong, we should call the company and have them pick it up.
Then we go to church and they have the giving tree and we chose a tag that had a 10 month old girl.... should we give it the needy child, send it back or keep it?
ediep replied: here is a pic of our chair
mom21kid2dogs replied: I'd probably call the company and tell them they sent two and I plan to donate one to a Christmas Charity. I doubt they'd want it mailed back in that case.
For me, I look at cases like this in the reverse. If they billed me for two chairs and I only ordered and recieved one, you'd better believe I'd be calling them to have the error reversed. If they accidently sent me two chairs, treating them the way I expect to be treated by them only makes sense to me. In this case, though, since you have an option to donate, I would definately offer them that choice.
boyohboyohboy replied: i think i would just donate it...is there a way to go back and see if you could have accidently ordered two? that does seem like a lot for that chair... besides they may make you mail it back and pay for shipping... so i would just give it to a good cause.
Anthony275 replied: donate it
ediep replied: I did check, I only ordered one
lovemy2 replied: Donate it you will make some little girls dream come true - I am sure that $79.99 chair cost about $10 to make....
PrairieMom replied: You have to call the company. Anything else is stealing. you only paid for one.
MommyToAshley replied: I agree, I'd call the company and be sure to ask for a supervisor. I'd let them know the mistake and let them know you would like to donate the second one. Besides, then your conscience will be clear and you will feel better about donating it.
amynicole21 replied: Yes, I'd call. Karma is a meanie.
luvmykids replied: I'd call, I'd rather get it off my conscience.
And for the little girl, were you planning on buying her other things as well? I'm sure she probably wouldn't have the chance to have a chair like that but probably needs other things more.
lisar replied: I agree.
moped replied: Gosh that is a tough one - I don't know...........
Maybe call the company.
Jamison'smama replied: Any time I have had a problem like that, they never want the item back. I ordered some shelves and they were missing a bracket---they sent me more shelves and said to ditch the others---it costs them more to send you a mailer and pay for shipping then is worth it to them. I'd call just to let them know.
Calimama replied: I would call. I can't believe how much that chair was!!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Ditto. Always more of a PITA to the company if you to send the product back to them. I would just tell them you plan to donate it.
Boo&BugsMom replied: This is a hard one. I know this sounds odd, but, to me...it would be more of a hassle for you to call, have them come get it, etc. all because THEY goofed up. I'd probably donate it. Some little girl's Christmas dream could certainly come true. I'm sure the company wont miss it. JMO.
coasterqueen replied: I completely agree. And like Amy said, Karma is mean. Believe me.
stella6979 replied: I agree. I doubt they'll miss the chair and it was their mistake. I'm sure that little girl and her family would be very grateful.
kit_kats_mom replied: So funny. You know, the same thing happened to me a couple of years ago when my mom ordered Katherine's play kitchen. The company sent two. I called them to let them know and they said that I had to take it to UPS and send it back. I told them that wasn't going to happen since it was super heavy and I was due to give birth with Lauren any day. They said they'd send a pick up tag...never happened. We waited 3 months then gave it to Katherine's daycare provider. all of the kids get to play with it.
I say donate it
ediep replied: well, my guilt got the best of me and I called the company, they are sending UPS to my house on Wednesday to pick it up.... we;ll see if they ever show up
on a side note--- Today I checked on an order I had made weeks ago at Old Navy and I realized that it got shipped to my old address...I new owners must have just kept it or thrown it away because it never got sent back to ON or never got forwarded to me. RUDE!!!!!
ON said they'll reship the order but the new winter coat I had ordered for myself is no longer available.
I wonder if I'll see the new homeowner at a store one day wearing my coat!!!
luvmykids replied: OMG That is flat out ROTTEN!
ediep replied: I know!!!!!
I called my former neighbor to see if she met the new owners and maybe she could ask them about the package. She told me that they aren't very friendly but they have a baby... which I didn't know. So maybe I'll see them around town with the wife waering my new coat and their baby wearing Emma's new, coat, hat, amd sneakers. I am sooooo mad!!!!!!!!
amynicole21 replied: Can you get a delivery verification from UPS and have them contact her? We do that at work when packages are mis-delivered.
