question on irony?
mummy2girls wrote: Have you ever had this intense fear and then it comes out literally into something else?
My fear right now is Jenna going under anestetic when she gets her adenoids removed. Big reason is because of Jordan. Everyone told me she will be ok because what jordan had was way worse and many other problems contributed to him not waking up. And yes i know down deep thats true but when one of your kids gets a reaction from the anestetic , no matter what circumstance, its hard not to be worried. anyways... i was watching everybody loves raymond. and in the show raymond has to get his adenoids removed. so as everyone is sitting in the waiting room the nurse comes out and tells them that he isnt waking up and his blood pressure dropped. 1 minute later the doc comes out and says he is fine he woke up. i instantly turned the channel. so i found that to be the worst irony to ever happen to me...and my fear has escalated... DOH!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I know what you mean, I have fears about Kaitlin and just whenI woudl be thinking of one and tring to get my mind off it I would see it on TV hence one reason I dont watch much lifetime or Law and orders anymore. Way to many movies and shows with my fears in them.
lisar replied: I think you have a real reson to be worried due to what happened with Jordan. I think Jenna will be just fine. When they install the tubes in thier ears and remove thier adnoids its not as deep of a sleep as normal. Thats what I was told cause I worried about it every single time Lexi was put under. That was my big fear also.
CantWait replied: This happened the first time I was flying with Robbie alone a few years ago.
Days before the flight there was 3 airplane movies on tv, all of which crashed.
cameragirl21 replied: is she going under general or twilight sleep?
mummy2girls replied: general
cameragirl21 replied: i've been under general and it's literally nothing...i can understand why you'd worry and all but just be reassured that it's nothing...she'll wake up and not remember a thing, won't even remember falling asleep. just be aware that they'll stick a breathing tube down her throat so she may wake up thirsty and/or with a sore throat...i know when i woke up i couldn't get enough water and then of course i had to pee like there was no tomorrow. if you want to pm me to get more details, feel free but general is not considered dangerous anymore, it's so routine nowadays and there will be an anesthesiologist monitoring her the whole time. i know it's hard but try not to worry, the results of this surgery will be great for Jenna.
mummy2girls replied: i know its a common procedure and i shouldnt worry but again going through what i did with my son screwed me up mentally so when my son had a reaction to anestetic its hard to just push it out of my head and say she will be ok. I know she will be ok but again... its hard!
DansMom replied: Oh Shelly, I'd be a wreck about it too. I'm phobic about going under and I'd be phobic about Daniel going under---and with your experience, it makes sense to have concerns. Hopefully, you will get to meet the anesthesiologist and let him or her know your concerns. The docs should hear about your fear---hopefully, they will be able to reassure you.
Coincidences like that---when what I'm thinking about comes up as a story on TV or in a book---they happen to me all the time. It's one of the things that makes me think there's more to life than what we can see.
mummy2girls replied: yes i talked to the surgeon about Jordan and he feels what happened to Jordan was a diff incident being he had alot of other problems:( But he is goign to talk to the anestheologist and have him talk to me as well before the surgery.
stella6979 replied: When Avery had to have an endoscopy done, I had lots of questions for the anesthesiologists. I was more scared of the anesthetic than I was of the actual procedure but the anesthesiologist was able to answer all my questions which did make me feel better. Of course, you're a Mom and you're going to worry no matter what, but I'm sure after speaking with him/her you might feel just a little bit better.
Calimama replied: I saw that episode last night as well. I hate it when irony hits like that.
