pain during ovulation

kit_kats_mom replied: I've heard that it is common to feel pain during ovulation but my cycles are so irregular I've probably dismissed them as gas or some other mystery pain. I'm sure you've probably been all over the web for conception stuff but here are some links that I found helpful when I was TTC. I know I read about ovulation pains somewhere and it was most likely on one of these sites.

Jamison'smama replied: I have never noticed pain but again--I am also so irregular I may not have noticed but my sister can tell you almost to the minute when she is ovulating--very painful so I know it is pretty common. Good luck--lots of baby dust!

coasterqueen replied: I never noticed pain when ovulating before pg, but then again I never noticed I was ovulating before pg. I do now, however, notice pain during ovulation after having Kylie. I don't know why but I do. I've heard many women do.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: The term for pain during ovulation is mittelschmerz. I do have some pain during ovulation and sometimes I can actually tell which ovary I am ovulating from. It depends on the month because some times I don't feel this pain. I am pretty regular so I pretty much know when I am even without the pain.

I have this pain too. I had pain really bad one time and it was because I was ovulating and I had a cyst on my ovary and the ovulation caused it to rupture. When I had trans/vag u/s so they could look at my ovaries they could see the track it made and the fluid from the rupture that is how I know otherwise I have no real idea of when I ovulate! Julie (jem0622) replied: I do get pains when I ovulate. Are you keeping track of your cycle days? Are you checking your cervical mucous?

I just started keeping track of my cycle days since I just had my first AF in over 2 yrs. And I can tell when the cervical mucous is there and have seen it change. I just notice as I wipe.

Are you using an OPK (ovulation predictor kit)?

I plan to just track cycle days and cervical mucous. I would say once you hit cycle day 10 you should be doing the bd every day or every other day for that whole week.
