Hillbilly Housewife replied: What happened is almost 2 weeks ago, my boss who isn't really my boss offered me a new contract: basically do the 15 hours of leisure activities I'm doing now, plus do from 11:30 - 1pm and 4:30 to 6pm everyday taking the attendance at meal times of all the old people, so that they can make sure nothing is wrong and preventing them to come and eat. So that's an extra 15 hours a week... and the last 5 hours a week would be spent filing nursing folders.

I was offered back in october, a position of 15 hurs leisure - 20 hours of admin duties.

So, I refused the offer - in writing - and told them that I was sorry, but I was really waiting on the admin duties that I was offered in October. I also told them that I was happy with only my 15 hours for now, since they didn't have any "office" work for me to do - and we can talk about work again once my mat leave is up in october.

She called me back into her office to try to change my mind - telling me how important it is for me to get to know the people here and build a repore with them... cripes I've been living in THIS apartment since last June. I think I knowq lots of peopl by now.Everyone knows me - i'm the young one with the 3 kids. Geez. I didn't say that though... I just said that I was sorry, but as I'd said before, I accepted an admin work contract - and that's what I wanted to do - and that i would certainly not be taking attendance at meal times.

Yesterday, I wrote an email to my boss boss, asking him not to give out my home number to people who want to contact me for the activities, that I have an office externsion. He basically replied that too bad so sad - he knows where he can reach me, and he won't dick around trying to locate me at work if he can call me at home - that it was a handicap from living here.

I haven't replied - but In my head, I've already whooped his arse.

So today I was writing my schedule down in the coordinator's schedule book - and was told by the receptionist that my schedule would be in the regular employee book from now on - i said why - i'm a coordinator, that isn't where it's supposed to be. She said - talk to MAG. (boss who thinks she's my boss). So I asked one of the other assistants about it - and she replied - that position is no longer a coordinator position.

In essence - my position has been stripped and brought down to minimum level.

Well - they keep adding stupid stupid tasks to my workload - and I don't have the physical time to do all of it... and yet they tell me that I have to only do my 15 hours. Well - I've done 8 just about 8 hours already, and we're only day 2 of the week. They're going to have one mega surprise when I tell them "no" next time - they won't authorize overtime, and I refuse to work for free.

So basically I'm biting my tongue - since I don't want "my issues" to impact my dh - but I am going to write them all a nice long email explaining that i'm being jerked around, nobody is aware of anything else - and that either quit jerking me around, or i'm going to the labor voard. You know I STILL don't have a written contract from when we moved here last March?????? I'm so tired of their bull... I'm just too tired of it to care anymore. I spent the afternoon re-woreking my resume... looks pretty good, I would hire me. Ha!

Anyhoo... any advice on how I can approach them about their caca del Toro?

MyLuvBugs replied: WOW. I think I'd be upset too. They are totally stringing you along for something. Almost like their trying to set you up for a fall. Be careful! They might just say "Fine, get out".

I think I'd definately ask for a contract with the stipulations that were discussed in October. AND do exactly what you said when your 15 hours are up....Sorry, I'm gone. And if they try to call you at home.....oops, sorry, I don't talk business when I'm not working unless you payme for the overtime.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I agree with Ericka. They seem to be building you up, only to let you down. They also may want you to be the one to say "I'm done!" , and walk out.

Good luck with whatever comes out of this. Hopefully, an understanding on their part that you are not going to put up with this.
