Ashlynn's Mommy replied: But I hope you can get it fixed
MommyToAshley replied: Sounds like a question for Ed.
Good luck, hope you get it fixed soon. I love hot showers!
mom21kid2dogs replied: Sounds like you'll be shopping for a new hot water heater~ugh! You might want to check to be sure your heat control knob hasn't been moved inadvertantly before giving up the ghost, though. My condolences!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I hope not its not that old of one. In fact it might still be in warrenty.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I was thinking the same as Dee Dee.... maybe Ed would know.
I hope it still is under warranty, if it is that.
TheOaf66 replied: could def be a heating element in the water heater that is why it is taking so long to heat up, I would prob have it looked at though
Kaitlin'smom replied: hummm wonder which one it woudl be the lower or upper one. I know that much there is two guess I should look at it.
Kaitlin'smom replied: bump??
redchief replied: If the lower heating element on an electric water heater goes (or if the lower thermostat fails) there will be a much shortened period of hot water, but it should be hot enough. Without more information I can't be sure what the problem is.
If the upper element goes you get no hot water at all.
Kaitlin'smom replied: see thats whats weird that he gets the hot AFTER me. I woudl think I would have it first. Any suggestions as how to test it? or what to look for? or more info I can give you. We have electric and a heat pump. Water heater we bought in 2000 I am thinking and the heat pump was replaced in dec of 02.
redchief replied: Does this problem occur everywhere or only in the bath?
Kaitlin'smom replied: I know Kaits bath was not very warm the other night. The sick got warm but I was not tring for hot. I will have to test them all.
redchief replied: Test all faucets for adequate water temperature. Between now and 6:00 PM EDT I'll be getting ready for work. As I can I'll check back on your progress.
Kaitlin'smom replied: well when I got home they were warm but not hot. temp was kinda low so DH turned it up again. I will re-check them to see whats going on now.
redchief replied: Not hot in all of the faucets?
