okay hopefully I can lighten your moods - something I did last night....

Kaitlin'smom wrote: I was not going to share this as I was a bit horrified and embarrassed last night, but since it seems some of you are having a bad day I will share and you can laugh with me (or at me). So I decided it was time to do something with my hair color. I was tired f this bleach blonde ring around my hair (mostly from the summer) well I tried to go a bit darker blonde well that did not work got some sort of strange color in that part of my hair so I grabbed th box of chestnut brown haircolor and re-did it on wed night. Well it was so dark and something I am not used to so I thougth I would put some hightlights in. So I got a box and out the streaks in, its colored red so you see where they are going. So time is up and I rinse it out, water is clear. Well when I took the towel off what did I see? PINK yes I found pink streaks in the back of my hair apparently where the bonde blonde was OMG ohmy.gif no what do I do. I was horrified. Course DH got a good laugh. So not the decision do I try and bleach it out or go back to a dark brown to cover it until it can grow out a bit more.........well I was woriied what the bleach would do so I went out hair wet in a hat to the store and got a nice shade of brown, back home I went and colored my hair again. Well it certanly covered the pink streaks but now its so terribly dark, I hate it. SO now I will be wearing up until I either get used to it, cut it extreamly short, or in a few weeks go have it profesional done. I usually dont have any issues coloring my hair, and thankfully I did not do the bangs so they are a bit lighter, I do kinda like the color they are.

So now do you feel better, and did I provide a good laugh?

I guess it was a bit funny to have bright pink in my hair, I might have kept it if they had been the long streaks and not so mis-placed......it is october and halloween right...I could have gotten away with it

Maddie&EthansMom replied: You certainly aren't alone!! blush.gif I did this to my hair awhile back (June I think). I wore a hat for weeks. It was BRIGHT RED. I don't mind red hair, but it was so hideous. I finally got it back blonde, but it is still too blonde. *sigh* rolleyes.gif I just can't find that happy medium.

I hope you are able to get it back to your normal color soon. thumb.gif

coasterqueen replied: Hee hee, pink..that would have been funny, sorry. blush.gif But I've done something similar once. I wanted a nice shade of brown and it turned out PITCH BLACK and I do mean PITCH BLACK...so I called the hair salon immediately and they did something to it to "tone" it down. I was horrified, lol.

favre4fan replied: OH MY!! I'm a natural brunette but I had bleach blond hair for a few years and I had decided it was too hard not to mention too expensive to keep up. SO I dyed it one day and it turned green a subtle green but I knew it was green and my dh kept telling me it wasn't I was so mad!! I eventually got it back to its natural state but it took awhile. That was about 3 years ago so he just now admitted that it was green!! I knew it !! I was so terribly upset he couldn't tell me the truth!! rolling_smile.gif

Sunflower04 replied: Wow - you must be tired from all the hair dying that you have been doing. Thanks for the laugh. rolling_smile.gif

Boys r us replied: haaa!! That's horrible! LOL I'm so sorry!!

But becareful with your hair, you don't want it to all fall out or be burnt to smitherines! Wait a couple of weeks and go to a salon and have it done professionally! In the mean time get you some deep conditioning treatments and do that several times!

My2Beauties replied: LOL that is hilarious rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

I have done this before, I once dyed my hair so blonde a girlfriend asked me if I fried it? She said you must've fried your hair?

Oh man listen to this horror story. Before my senior prom I went to this barber college (so I could get it done cheap) to have my hair highlighted, I had never had it done before so I had no clue what they did. Well the guy ended up putting 4 tubs of bleach on my hair ohmy.gif I still had no idea what was going on. He then washed it out and when I saw it I was like OMG, this is bleached OMG I wanted highlights you idiot mad.gif I was so mad. He said well let's put some toner in it so when he did that I had streaks of grayish-blonde going through my hair I was mortified at this point (3 days before prom). I go home and buy a dark brown hoping to be able to cover it up and put streaks in it myself, it turned green!! I had to pay $150 to have my color corrected!!! The girl that did my hair at the time said she could have killed me. blink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: well I am glad I am not the only one, thanks for sharing your stories with me.

Nichole I do plan on waiting about 3 weeks or more and having it done at a salon, I need to have it cut anyway so some can be cut off.

I just dont like it down this dark but up its not to bad

Kirstenmumof3 replied: ohmy.gif OMG that is just awful! I'm sorry though I do have to laugh! laugh.gif Did you get any pictures of it with the pink streaks? I've only ever coloured my hair once! It was October 11 years ago. My friend went out and bought black hair dye so I thought I would give it a try. My hair is a nice auburn colour with very nice red highlights. I love my hair colour, what would pocess me to colour it black, not sure! It was so dark! A year later DH and I were getting married so I had to go to the hair dresser and have them bleach out my hair and colour it auburn again! It cost me $75.00! I can just imagine what it would cost now! OMG I hope you can have it fixed! ohmy.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: its okay to laugh I dont mind so much now. Its okay now just darker than I want. No I would not let DH take pictures, he wanted to but I sad no way. I will have it changed in a few weeks

A&A'smommy replied: OH NO LOLOL that would suck and that is the exact reason why I WONT do my own hair rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

kimberley replied: lol poor you. hope it grows out fast for you. grouphug.gif

MomofJandB replied: LOL! I can only imagine what it looked like! You poor thing! Actually, when I get my hair colored or do it myself, it's darker for a few days, then after a few washings, it lightens up. Maybe you'll have the same luck!! happy.gif

MomToMany replied: rolling_smile.gif LOL, at least it's Halloween time!

I have a hard time dyeing my hair. It never works! There's no change whatsoever! I'd really like to lighten it a bit, but nothing works!
