sparkys2boys wrote: Who here is a neat freak or is not?? I'm a neat freak to the max, and I have no idea why I bother..lol!!! I clean everyday.. and I by clean I mean dust, sweep, vaccum, clean bathroom, do laundry, make sure all the dishes are done all the time. It's crazy, I was working until a couple of weeks ago(YAHHHHHH.. see old post..lol) and even then I was nuts with this. I'm home full time now(YAHHH.. again) and I do more now then when I wasn't. Anyone else like this? My sis on the other hand is clean but not tidy.. big diff. I'm rushing around cleaning because it's xmas, and she's like why bother, it's goona get dirty anyway.. GAWD..... I couldn't be like that..lol!!!!

TheOaf66 replied: Jennie is a total neat freak and she will admit it too

MyLuvBugs replied: Ya know it's weird....I'm total OCD when it comes to where things need to be placed, but once they're in their spot.....forget about dusting (that's secretly how I know if anything has been moved wink.gif laugh.gif )

But I do like a freshly vacuumed floor and a clean kitchen. Those I do keep VERY clean!! But with two cats....kinda have too with the flooring. rolleyes.gif Our bathroom and our bed linens......YIKES ohmy.gif they get a full cleaning like once every couple months or so. blush.gif But the living room and Kitchen (where others can see) is very clean....except for the dust. LOL laugh.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I am a total slob...I would love for my house to be clean but it's not gonna happen if I am the one to do it. When people come over I need days notice to get it is acceptable order and then it's back to destroyed in minutes.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
I am in the same boat! I will be the first to admit that I can't stand things messy. And that includes clutter. Vaccuming gets done at least every other day, dusting bi-weekly, bathroom wiped down each day, dishes always washed, and sweeping done every day. Laundry I only do once a week, but that is because we don't have enough each day to do to make a whole load.

sparkys2boys replied: good..lol.. it's not just me so far then!!! Tannerbugsmom.. looks like me and you are freaks..LOL!!!! My DH thinks i'm nuts, I change the furinture around in the livingroom at least once a month..lol!! He hates it sooo much!

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Troy throws things on the floor to see how long I can stand letting things lay there. dry.gif Big ole meanie! mad.gif

sparkys2boys replied:
ekkk, I'd have to hurt him!!!! Paul knows better then to test me..lol!! Things can get pretty ugly around here..lol!!

lisar replied: I keep my house clean but I only dust once a week and I vaccum twice a week and I mop twice a week. I do laundry daily though.

holley79 replied: I am SO not the neat freak. DH on the other hand is. I pick up and vacuum and things like that but that's about it. DH will go bonkers if things are not where they need to be, there are dust bunnies, clothes on the floor, etc. He has gotten better though since Annika was born.

kit_kats_mom replied: I was and it was taking over my life. I'm on medication now that takes the edge off and I can now sit down and see a piece of dirt on the floor and not have to get up. blush.gif I still like it clean though but it's not an obsession now. I do flylady.net and do my best.

coasterqueen replied: Big time before having kids because when I wasn't working I didn't have a whole lot of other things to do. happy.gif Now that I have kids and work full time there is NO time to be that way. rolleyes.gif

MotherForever2043 replied: I do tend to clean alot but I'm not a dusting person. I just don'y like doing it at all happy.gif You would think that have 2 kids that are not that young, I wouldn't have to clean, but it's not like that at all. I clean all the time rolleyes.gif

sparkys2boys replied: ok.. perfect example of my crazziness.. i oved the livingroom around today.. which included moving a xmas tree and a ton of gifts.. I need help..lol!!

Cece00 replied: I'm tidy, but I'm not a total neat freak. I really cant be- I stay at home with the kids (four of them), I have 4 kids under the age of 6 (so you can imagine they are a bit messy rolling_smile.gif ), and I work PT from home. I want the house to be clean, but I do not constantly do the 'deep cleaning' (ie- scrubbing the walls down, dusting every day, vacuuming or mopping every day...

DillsMommy replied: I SO wish I was a neat freak. It seems like no matter how hard I try or how much I clean, it's a mess the very next day. growl.gif I think my problem though, is not having a routine. (laundry monday, dusting tuesday,etc..) I'm sure that would make a big difference. However the lady above us has major OCD. I hear her vacuum running atleast 4 times a day. That's not so enjoyable at 7a.m.

Boys r us replied: I'm a neat freak! Today, I spent all afternoon with a toothbrush, paper towels and cleaner on my hands and knees cleaning all of the baseboard molding in the house and cleaning the vent thing on the bottom of the fridge. I can't help it...and it's so NOT like I didn't have better things to be doing, considering I have 3 kids shouting orders at me all day!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: all I have to say is www.flylady.net

Can I post that here? emlaugh.gif

Savevd my tush, I'll tell you that

gr33n3y3z replied: I have 4 older kids plus a few extra here and there
My house will always look lived in but clean wink.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: I'm a neat freak, I admit. I don't deep clean every day, maybe once a week, but things HAVE to be in there place! What's bad for me though is that I don't care about cabinets much, in other words if I can't see it, I'm ok! DH hates that I sometimes just shove things in the junk drawer and don't clean it out for months.

Iluvmyboys replied: I tend to get a little crazy about cleaning but nothing to extreme. I vacume once a week, do laundry twice a week, ect. The boys also do a lot to help around the house like dusting, cleaning the kitchen, and keeping there own rooms clean. I love a super clean house but its not possible with two boys! LOL So I try as hard as I can to keep it clean as possible.

msoulz replied: Life is too dag-gone short to be a neat freak. I refuse to spend every spare minute cleaning when I could be on the internet instead!!

However, I can not stand to cook unless the kitchen is clean right before and immediately after. That's my Type A- coming out. Otherwise I can let some dishes pile up throughout the day.

Bet none of you want to come to my house now!!! tongue.gif

MommyToAshley replied: I like a clean house but not a total neat freak by any means. I don't see how people keep their house perfect, work, and spend time with their kids. I'd like to know their secret... it's like they have super powers...LOL! I wasn't born with those super powers. If I spent all my spare time cleaning, then I wouldn't get to spend any time with Ashley.

My sister came over to my house one day and Ashley had toys everywhere. I was embarrassed, but then she said, "Wow, it's nice to see your house looking lived in. Before you had kids, I was afraid to touch anything" That just put it all into perspective for me.

NikkiM replied: I'm somewhere in the middle.

It is just impossible to be perfect with a 2 and 3 1/2 year old! lol

luvmykids replied: By nature I'm a clean slob LOL....I like things to be clean as far as floors, kitchen, etc but clutter doesn't bother me that much as long as whats under it is clean. But thanks to flylady I'm becoming a lot more organized and systematic about my cleaning so at any given moment it doesn't get too bad. I'd say 95% of the time someone could drop by and I wouldn't be embarrassed about the house.

Calimama replied:
Are we the same person!?? blink.gif tongue.gif I have the same list of daily cleaning jobs and I'm CONSTANTLY rearranging every room. tongue.gif

Nina J replied:
I think it's nice to go over to someones house and see the toys on the floor for the same reason your sister said.

I keep my house clean, like the bathrooms get cleaned every few days, the floor gets swept or vacuumed every day, I straighten things and put things away at the end of the day. But, during the day theres probably going to be peanut butter on the kitchen counter and the jar of ovaltine probably won't have it's lid on...it's only because I was in to much of a rush to get back to playing trains with my kids happy.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
BTDT!!! I notice every crumb on the floor... blush.gif

I have gotten better at letting things go now that I realize the kids (and DH) will just mess it up again in five minutes, but I still get anxiety over it. I don't dust all that much though...but everything is in a neat place and spills and such are always wiped up. Bathrooms are clean, but not everyday. I never let the laundry basket get that full and I vacuum a couple times per week. So not always the cleanest, but definitely tidy!

cameragirl21 replied: is there such thing as the opposite of a neat freak? i would LOVE to be a neat freak but unfortunately i'm the exact opposite. i don't know when people find time to clean, seriously. years ago, before i was a photog, one of my coworkers invited himself to my house rolleyes.gif and it was a pigsty and a half...he turned to me and said, "i've never known a Jewish woman who didn't keep a clean house." rolleyes.gif but it didn't stop him from hitting on me. rolleyes.gif
i can honestly say with a great deal of embarrassment that if i didn't have a housekeeper come fairly regularly then my house would NEVER be clean or even on the same planet as clean. blush.gif
what i hate is that once it's clean i can never find anything as easily as i could when it was a mess.... tongue.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I'm not a clean freak because who has the time for that? rolling_smile.gif I do like everything in it's place though. For instance all of Jade's toys are in colored bins by category. emlaugh.gif I do like a clean house and will do what needs to be done to get it that way, but it doesn't have to be perfect.
