oh God
cameragirl21 wrote: oh God, the vet doesn't think it's diabetes but she did find a mass in her rib cage that feels like a tumor. she said not to panic yet, that it could be benign but i completely lost it at the vet's office, i tried to keep it together but i couldn't. we go for an ultrasound on thursday morning to see what it is...she suspected possible swollen lymph node but that would be a sign of infection and she found no fever so that pretty much ruled out infection. also, her urine was pink when they extracted it to do a test...blood in the urine, could be a UTI but i can usually tell when she has one of those so it could be kidney troubles.... she said there is no heart murmur so that is a good sign but what would a heart murmur mean, anyone know...? we should have blood/urine test results tomorrow and then ultrasound thursday, idk how i'll sleep between now and then but i'll have to try. please, please, say a prayer for my cat, i can't lose her yet, i just can't. also, my vet who lost Starlight never found that tumor/mass when he checked my cat in January, or maybe he just didn't look. the only other option is that it wasn't there in January but grew so fast which would not be a good sign at all, the doctor said it could be lymphoma. she lost a total of 2.2 pounds, not quite as much as i thought but still, i am so freaked out.

HuskerMom replied: Poor kitty! I hope she get's better soon!
redchief replied: A heart murmur is heard when arteries have turbulent blood flow. Lisa has a slight one. In most people and animals, slight murmurs are not cause for concern, but a major murmur could be an indication that the mass is related to oncoming heart failure. It sounds as if the vet doesn't feel this is so. I hope everything comes out OK.
CantWait replied: Jennifer, I'm so sorry. Prayers for your kitty.
holley79 replied: Sorry to hear that Jen. Gypsy had a mass come up from the inside out so it's not always the vet. Sometimes our pets' bodies make it hard to detect things. Hopefully it's minor.

Farelle replied: I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. I know how you feel, I am so attached to all of my pets that I can't even think about them ever being sick! The important thing is that the vet is aware of whats going on so they can help your kitty the best way they can. Animals can live a long time with sickness if cared for the right wat, which I have no doubt you will do!!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!
