looking for webspace - for pics

J-rod wrote: im just looking for a small place to host some photos of Kyan so my family can see. my bro lives in kentucky and the majority of my family lives 2 hrs away. i want them to be able to see pics of him (who is 1 month old today biggrin.gif ) i use photobucket, but some of them cant open the links or something happens.

was wondering if i can find a place to host pics and make it password protected for my family to use?

holley79 replied: Photobucket has been a life saver for me with family. I dont' have to email them they just click the link and they are there.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: babyhomepages.net is where we used to do the kids site but I'm not sire if you can password protect it dry.gif ...now we just use the space on MSN. I know you can also password MySpace.

redchief replied: I also use photobucket. So far I haven't gotten a lot of spam generated to my email from that.

C&K*s Mommie replied: JIC you did not know. In photobucket, if you send them the general link- you can set up a different password so that it will register as a read only account. I send the general link to family and friends that way they can view my account. Not induvidual links to each pic.

I use Photoworks, Snapfish, Freewebs, flickr, putfile (for videos), and shutterfly. happy.gif

J-rod replied: i will not do myspace. lol

so i can link them right to my photobucket folder? can they get into my other folders from there? cause i got some pics they cant see. blush.gif

my buddy said flickr and snapfish as well

CantWait replied: I use piczo, it's not password protected, but it's got that right click thing so other people can't copy your pictures.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I think you have to make each album public or not. I have three albums all which are public (with a password). Go into your account options, and change the status of your albums to public or private. wink.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: Also there are some place that you can register your own domain and stuff and they will host your site for like $4-$7/month.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I just checked in my account options, and in Photobucket I do not see where I can make sub folders private/public from the main one. They are all private with a password, and anyone can view my albums.

So in that case if you stick with Photobucket, you may have to create a seperate account from your own, and then you can create sub-albums with the various phases of Kyan's life.

J-rod replied: i just created a snapfish account...ill upload my pcis tonight. see how that works

thanks..if not ill try some other istes you all mentioned

redchief replied:
Don't ever think your pictures can't be copied. They always can be copied.

J-rod replied: i was only worried about people seeing my other pics. not being copied

MichaelsMommy replied: I use photobucket for videos only.. it seems too flakey to me to use on an every day basis for pics.

I opt to go for a paid accout with fotki.com. It's very stable, they have cheap prices on ordering prints and the quality of the prints is amazing. I have total unlimited space and that is such a good thing - I have about 80 pictures per month of my lil one.

redchief replied:
That should be fine. So long as there's no link and you keep your password secret, nothing you don't want seen should get loose. wink.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I love photobucket thumb.gif
