learning shows / cartoons - which shows does your kids watch?

Dylan watches the noggin channel and he also watches Mickey Mouse Play House.
I think there are some cartoons out there that smaller kids doesn't need to watch, such as SpongeBob, Kids Next Door, & Ed, Edd, & Eddie.

What do you think?

Crystalina replied: I've tried pushing Sesame Street (since I grew up loving it) but they have absolutely no interest in that show.

Evan likes Diego and Dora and absolutely loves SpongeBob. SpongeBob may not have any educational value but when I was a kid I also watched things that had no educational value and I'm a freakin' genius. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Izabella is into Hannah Montana and Zack and Cody and Drake and Josh. rolleyes.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Ashley still likes Dora. She doesn't really watch much TV. But, she loves the computer. She knows all the characters from nickjr.com and disney.com. I have to monitor her computer time like most would TV time. laugh.gif

luvmykids replied: My 3yo loves Dora and Blues Clues. The twins like Spongebob, I try to limit it though. They also love the oldies like Scooby Doo tongue.gif But we don't have cable anymore so that easily cuts down on cartoon time.

moped replied: Jack likes Diego and Bob the Builder and Mighty Machines....THomas etc

lisar replied: Raygen loves Diego and Dora and the upside down show.

Lexi watches Hannah Montana, Zack and Cody and the cooking channel. She loves the cooking shows.

luvbug00 replied: Mya watches disney, Cartoon network ( but NO ed and eddie) , travel channel with us, NGC with us,pretty much whatever she wants. ( which i am always there anyway becasue the computer is right by the tv. )

Boo&BugsMom replied:
There are quite a few on Cartoon Network that Tanner is not allowed to watch. He is allowed Ben10 (his favorite) and Justice League though. Harry's Bucket Full of Dinosaurs and Firehouse Tales are good too, which are on CN. He also likes to watch America's Funniest Home Videos, Animal Planet, Handy Manny, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and game shows like 1vs.100 and Deal or No Deal. You can actually make those game shows quite educational. happy.gif Oh, and he loves the National Bingo show and even likes to keep track of his own cards to play at home with the show. laugh.gif

Oh, and I want to add that I am not against shows that aren't all about education. It's pretend, and my kids are taught to know that. But, the reason I personally do not allow some of the shows on CN is because Tanner has a habit of copying things he sees on those shows, and it becomes a chore to get him to stop once he starts, so until he can refrain from copying what he sees, he wont get to watch them. I just want him to have good influences.

Anthony275 replied: nobody's kids watch arthur?!

TheOaf66 replied:
don't forget wheel of fortune

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Tanner use to, then he got bored with it.

Oh yes, Wheel of Fortune. He really likes game shows. He's good at them too!

Aubrey's mama replied: Aubrey LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse....she also likes to watch the WonderPets...and claps at the Price is Right!

My3LilMonkeys replied: Madison is into Spongebob, and they both love that $#(@*& Max and Ruby (that I find incredibly annoying) and Maggie and the Ferocious Beast.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Oh man, I don't know what I find more annoying...Max and Ruby or that dang Oobie! wacko.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Thomas like Arthur! He watches mostly Playhouse Disney (LOVES Einsteins and Mickey Mouse) and PBS Kids (Thomas, Curious George, Calliou etc). He also loves Wheel of Fortune and we watch it together...he shouts out the letters and I think it's so cute! Thankfully we don't have Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network so that's not even an option!!

A&A'smommy replied: hmmm Alyssa likes dora, max and ruby, blues clues, maggie and the ferious beast you know all those kinds of shows. We don't really watch much tv during the week except sometimes in the evenings.. discovered yesterday that she likes wheel of fortune which is good I guess tongue.gif

Crystalina replied: I think Max and Ruby's mom has done what I've threatend to on occasion... she packed her bags and left. emlaugh.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: We recently found PBS Sprout on the satellite. I love it. All PBS shows and Logan loves them. Our personal favorite is The Good Night Show, a montage of cartoons interspersed with host time. Very sweet and calm.

My3LilMonkeys replied:
Oh, forgot about that one! We watch the Good Night show a few times a week. thumb.gif

3xsthefun replied: Both of my girls like Spongebob.

Maegan she likes Dora and Diego and will watch Backyardigans on occasion.

Kaitlynn doesn't watch to much tv besides Spongebob and she likes to watch Reba with me.

Celestrina replied:
Oooooh yes. Tough call. I can't stand either of them.

Mommy2Isabella replied: I guess Im the Odd one out here ... Bella does't watch tv. She likes music, so I turn on the music learning shows on disney, but she wouldn't sit still or "watch" it if I wanted her to! She will dance to the music though!
