kinda nervous...
kimberley wrote: well, i was so swept up in the joy of seeing the baby yesterday that i completely forgot what else i saw on the u/s. the tech found a cyst on my right ovary. if i recall correctly, it was about 5-6cm. i have done a bit of research on it and am now totally freaking out. i don't know why i do this to myself . anyone have personal experience with cysts during pg? this makes me angry because from November last year to early March this year i was bleeding every 2 weeks and got told by docs that it was nothing.. just my period regulating itself . now i read that that is a common symptom when cysts burst.
from what i read, 13wks is out of the m/c range but i still worry what comes next. the other awful part of this is that i can't find an OB who will take me so late in pg. i will continue my hunt monday but it isn't looking good. thanks in advance.
amynicole21 replied: Aparently I had one while preg with Nora... I have to go have an u/s in a few weeks to confirm that it actually is a cyst and not something else. I don't know too much about them though I'm sure that you'll be fine.
coasterqueen replied: (HUGS)) I've had plenty of experience with cysts while not pg but not pg.
mckayleesmom replied: Just wanted to send some hugs and prayers your way...Hopefully it is nothing.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG Kimberley CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! I'm so happy for you!
I had a friend that had a cyst on her ovaries and it wasn't found until she was pregnant. The doctors really won't concerned about it and when her daughter was born, the cyst had caused one of her feet to curve. The baby was fitted with casts and had to have them replaced frequently. She is fine now (11 years old). I remember they had to buy special shoes for her once she was finished with the casts.
Good Luck, wishing you a Healthy and Happy 9mths!
DansMom replied: It sounds like something to keep an eye on, but also something that isn't rare or unheard of. I don't have experience with this, but I DO have experience with freaking myself out researching health issues on the web. I can say "take a deep breath and trust the docs", but I never follow my own advice! Hopefully you can get some reassuring answers soon.
I'm responding because I'm surprised that docs think 13 weeks is too late to take on a patient. I would think that finding out at the 12 week mark would be a common enough occurrence... I'm just surprised to hear this! I mean, there's still plenty of time to do examinations and prepare! I do remember having to shop around a bit to find someone who was taking on patients due to deliver on my date---maybe it's related to that, scheduling deliveries and already having a full plate for that month. Anyway, I sure hope you find someone soon.
kimberley replied: thanks everyone. i do know better than to play "web MD" because most cases i am way off base... but maybe not this time. i found one OB who will take me but he said i need the GP to refer me before he can schedule me for an appt. so i called the GP and his secretary told me he is out on lunch but i need to come see him tomorrow because i need a specialist referral and to discuss u/s results. i go see him tomorrow at 11am est so i will know more then.. but i am freakin out a little.
and being unable to get an OB or midwife is completely about delivery... they already have their max for december at this point.
Josie83 replied: I can't help either Kim I don't have experience with it but I really hope you find your answers xx
gr33n3y3z replied: let us know Kimberley how everything went
kimberley replied: did i mention that i don't like the GP's secretary?? i wasted my time going in cuz he doesn't even have the u/s results!!!!!!! i am not impressed. i mentioned the cyst and he said he doesn't want to speculate until he sees the results but basically there isn't much that can be done while pg and the most they would do is drain it. i asked what the risks to the baby were and he really didn't answer me. i have to go back some time next week for a pap (YUCK!) and then in 2-3wks do my level 2 u/s and triple screen. the initial blood work can back normal so that is one relief. i am hoping to find out the sex of this baby... so i am excited i might know in just a couple of weeks! i have never found out before, so this is new and exciting for me ! he won't refer me to an OB without the results, so he is doing all the primary care for the next month or so. oh well... maybe by then a midwife will magically become free in december and let me have my baby at home
A&A'smommy replied: Goodness as if you don't have enough to worry about!! I hope you find a docter or midwife soon!!! ((((HUGS)))
MommyToAshley replied: Oh good grief.... I am sorry you wasted your time and didn't get any answers. But, at least you have an appointment scheduled for next week. I would tell you not to worry, but I know that is pointless. But, I will tell you to stay off WebMD
(((HUGS))) Please keep us posted, and you're in my thoughts and prayers!
