juliajaj replied: Sorry this is such a late birth notice. I've been lurking, reading posts, but just found time to post this.

Hannah was born on 7/6 at 6:57 PM. She weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz. & was 20" long. I went to my last prenatal appt. on 7/6 & my blood pressure was high, so the doctor asked that I go to the hospital to be monitored. If my pressure was still high, she wanted to induce me. I was kind of hoping to wait to go until my due date (7/9) since I had a few more things I wanted to get done around the house & at work. My blood pressure did go down, but the doctor said she'd like to go ahead with the induction since I was already at the hospital. This made sense to DH & me, so they started the induction at 3 PM. The only bad thing was that I didn't get a chance to say goodnight to Olivia (this was the 1st night I spent without here). My contractions were getting strong by 5:30. My goal was to make it thru without any meds. By 6, I didn't think I could make it, so they administered a small amount ot Stadal (spelling?), which helped take the edge off the contractions. I started pushing at 6:30 & was holding beautiful little Hannah at 6:57. DH & I were so happy. His parents were watching Olivia for us, so she was in good hands.

Hannah is doing great. She's nursing every 3-4 hours during the day, goes to bed at 8 PM, wakes up 1 time at around 2 or 3, and then sleeps until 6 AM. She's napping quite a bit during the day, but isn't regular yet. I go back to work on 9/28, so Hannah & Olivia will go to the same daycare. Olivia is showing a lot of interest in Hannah. She was hesitant at 1st, but now she always gives her plenty of kisses & attention.

I'm doing fine. I think I was more mentally prepared this time, so I didn't feel so worn out early on. I'm still trying to find a balance of spending time with each of the girls, DH, getting housework done, getting ready to return to work, getting back to my before baby size, etc. Right now I just feel very blessed with everything that God has given me.

I'm so glad it went smoothly for you! Sounds like she's doing great!

And it always takes awhile to get into a routine after having a baby. Things are sure nuts in this house, that's for sure!
