how to get crayon off the wall - help

boyohboyohboy wrote: I need to get a lot of orange crayon off a white wall and a window sill can you help?
I have been scrubbing with a mr clean sponge but its not taking it off real well, and its removing the paint! growl.gif

mckayleesmom replied: There is this stuff at Walmart in the paint area called GRAFFITTI. IT works well and didn't take paint off the wall like Mr. Clean sponges do. Its near the goo be gone.

boyohboyohboy replied: I was hoping you were going to see my post! I knew you would know!

mom21kid2dogs replied: Honest to God . . . .toothpaste! It works like a charm!!

CantWait replied: White toothpaste, or any toothpaste might work.

mckayleesmom replied:
hmmm...you learn something everyday... rolling_smile.gif

My2Beauties replied: Those Mr Clean Magic Erasers took crayon off Hanna's bedroom wall upstairs before. It wasn't a lot though, not sure if it would have worked if there was a LOT like really dark markings. I think Aubrey did it and she didn't press down real hard, it wasn't a lot.

moped replied: Magic eraser!!!!!

boyohboyohboy replied:
magic eraser isnt working..the sponges are just pulverizing to nothing and making a mess with crayon still on the wall.

coasterqueen replied:
Wow, magic eraser even works on permanent marker for me.

Sorry that didn't work. Did the toothpaste work? I'm curious about that one.

Sounds like someone had a little fun on the wall for sure. happy.gif Did he at least create a masterpiece? laugh.gif Sorry, I know it's not funny, just trying to make light of the situation. blush.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: I just use the scrub pad on the rough side of an SOS dish sponge...the no scratch kind.

MommyToAshley replied: Just out of curiosity, did you try the toothpaste?

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
That happened to me when I was trying to get dark pen and pencil marks off the white walls in Andrew's room here. I did finally get them off with the magic eraser, but i got a lot of paint off too!

My2Beauties replied: Wow the magic eraser has never ever rubbed my paint off my walls blink.gif That's insane. Sorry hon, hope the toothpaste works, seems like everyone is saying that's the ticket.

boyohboyohboy replied:
my little creative monster was andrew..he took and orange crayon and drew all over the window sill and the wall, an entire wall, while dh was asleep right there! I mean how dh got out of the room without orange crayon all over him I will never know!

None of my other kids ever did anything like this, when I saw that wall, I was in shock..

I havent tried the tooth paste yet, I thought it had to be white paste so I have to get some..

I will post about the tooth paste when we try it...
do I just rub it on the crayon and then wipe it off or add water?

coasterqueen replied:
laugh.gif I know it's not funny, but really....... tongue.gif

Reminds me when I was little I took permanent marker and marked all over my bedroom walls (with that popcorn feel to the wall so it's hard to get anything off), my bedroom furniture, the living room coffee table and end tables......without getting caught...until I was completely finished. laugh.gif blush.gif Oh was my mom livid.

I don't know how to use the toothpaste, but I hope it works. thumb.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied:
It can be any kind of toothpaste. I used blue on my cream color walls and it took blue crayon right off and left the paint on. It also took a long standing kool aid stain off my neighbors counter. Crest ProHealth was what I used because it's what I have. Just use straight out of the tube. Water to clean up residue and your wall should be clean and minty fresh!

1CoolMom replied: Just paint over it!!! LOL!!!

paradisemommy replied: rubbing alcohol

BabyOwen427 replied: Brown paper sack and a luke-warm iron. Place a piece of paper sack (larger than the surface of your iron) over the crayon then place the iron over the sack. Hold for several moments. The iron will weaken the wax and the papersack will absorb it. This works well for any wax based messes... i.e. candle wax, crayons

boyohboyohboy replied: I am terrible but I still havent taken your advice and tried to get it off yet. It is covered by the curtain if its down and frankly I am ignoring it for now. It makes me so mad when I see it!
that little one is causing me some grey hair
