how reliable are contraceptives - can u get pregnant on them

Boys r us replied: I did. But that is only because I was dealing with some other serious health issues and my meds for that counter-acted my BC.

marriedwivkids replied: yes i do think i am still pregnant. i have to wait til 12th november to test. if i am i wil be 6 wks then. i was 6 wks on previous 2 pregnancies when i had a positive result

PrairieMom replied: Did you stop taking the pill? I heard that being on the pill when you are PG could be bad for the baby.

My3LilMonkeys replied: DH and I were using condoms when I got PG with Brooke. My mom asked me how it could happen and I told her "you know how they say it is only 99% effective, well...we are in the 1%!"

marriedwivkids replied: well i had the implanon pill implant in my arm for 6 months, 3 months of that i was using cilest oral pill to regulate my irregular bleeding. on 3rd october i had the implant out and continued to take the oral pill. i was told to use extra protection for 7 days following the implant being removed. well on day 7 me and hubby had unprotected sex. also on 15th october i missed a pill. last period at that point was on 2nd october. this would have made it the middle of my cycle. on 22nd-25th i had period like pains and bits of blood in discharge when going to the toilet. also i have very sore boobs. i never had these before a period. then on 29th october i had a period but it only lasted 3 days and it was lighter. did tests on 25th, 29th, 31st, 2 on 2nd, 4th and today. all negative but on previous 2 pregnancies which were not pill related i was 6 wks when a test showed up positive. i have another 6 days to go for that. i feel pregnant but i dont know for sure. my period usually lasts 7-8 days and from the day i stop my period i have sex everyday til next period so my chances are greatly increased when i miss a pill. i have all the signs i had on other 2 pregnancies so what do you lot think

TeagansMom609 replied: You know the saying, "Its not the car, its the driver."? I believe it goes the same for birth control. I think if you use it correctly you wont get pregnant.

canddsmom8 replied: I agree that nothing is 100% effective. I got pregnant with my son Dylan while using a condom. I have friends who have gotten pregnant while on the shot, and on the pill.

I was about 5 weeks along when I found out that I was pregnant.

CantWait replied: My mom got pregnant on the pill. She also got pregnant when her tubes were tied. My friend got pregnant on the pill also, but she wasn't using it properly. Nothing is impossible.

MyLuvBugs replied: My best friend got PG on Depoprovara (sp?) the shot one. Whatever it's called. lol And I've known a couple others that got PG while taking the pill. And now I think we might be PG with using condoms. UGH. ABSTENANCE!! That's the only real one that works. lol
