mummy2girls wrote: i am here for just a brief minute or so. I just came home to have a qucik shower and grab some clothes... So i decided i would update you all because you all were so great in sending prayers and being so caring.

Jenna had a asthma attack. Well I thought to be one. She was coughing to a point where she couldnt stop and couldnt take a breathe. her lips were turning blue. I looked at her chest in all of this commotion and I could see her ribs as she breathed in and was going so fast. So i flashed back to my nioece so i rushed her in to the hospital. They gave her the breathing mask in hope that would help her get in air.. and it slowed her panic breathing and she finally started to breathe normally again. They decided to admit her up to the peds ward at the stollery hospital to run tests and take some x-rays and such. So it came back as her having asthma. She was given breathing treatments throughout the night and i have to go through learning how to use the puffer on her and everything thing else. I was in a cloud so alot of what they were saying was just a blur. She will be in the peds ward for the remainder of the weekend as they want to make sure she is doing ok. And last night she did have another attack. It is pretty scraey and i am so scared! She is hooked up to iv's because she hasnt been eating or drinking because of how she is feeling. and yes her fever spiked once again last night... so thats what is happenign so far. I probably wont be online for awhile.

Again thanks for all your wishes and get well vibes!

Jamielou replied: Bless her heart what a rough time. I know its very hard to see your little one hooked up to all that stuff you wish it could be you instead. Carley was in the hospital twice so i def. know how you feel. The first time carley was in there she was 7 weeks old and had to stay for 2 weeks she had the Rota Virus. The second time she was in for 1 week with a urinary tract inf. We had to call a ambulance because her fever spiked and she had a seizure. She was 4 months old and had a fever of 106.0. Any way i hope your little one gets better real soon. wub.gif

mom2lilnick replied: That is so scary! I am sure they will get it all figured out for you guys. The biggest thing with asthma is prevention, I am sure you will be give daily meds to give her. Nicholas takes Flovent twice a day and then Albuterol as needed then we move on to Xopenex if that doesn't do the trick. Big hugs to Jenna and mommy!

mammag replied: Oh I'm sooo sorry you've been going through this. I haven't been on much over the last days and didn't see these posts. I'm glad they found out now though. I hope she gets to feeling better really soon. She'll be in my thoughts and prayers!

lisar replied: She is in my prayers and I hope she gets better real fast for ya. Its gota be scary. You will make it through.

MommyToAshley replied: grouphug.gif Oh Shelly, how scarey all this must be! Poor Jenna, and Mommy!!! I've been worried about you, hoping you will post an update. At least now you know what has been causing her to be so sick, and it CAN be treated. grouphug.gif

Just curious, did the docs say what was causing the fever? I don't know much about asthma (my two nephews have it) but I didn't think it caused a fever?

Please keep us posted, and you will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

JessC replied: Oh man, I am so sorry you have to deal with such a horrible thing, you will be in my prayers I hope things get better with jenna. Please keep us updated!
((((((((HUGS))))))))

gr33n3y3z replied: I guess her other infection has not cleared up yet bc she shouldnt be running a fever with asthma. Which means If I remember right you said she had a bad chest cold that will set off her asthma.

I just hope she is feel better right quick
Get well soon Jenna
((((((Big Hugs)))))

mummy2girls replied:
yes she still has her viral thing happening too. they say that is one big reason why it is setting it off. She sounds so horrible, congested, coughing... but she is fine..temp went away.

amymom replied: I hope all is going well and she will be coming home soon. Feel better Jenna!!
