grocery shopping?? - alone or with family?

When I take Mckaylee I usually give her a list of stuff....it makes her feel important and then she doesn't get sidetracked and try to get everything in the store.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I take Logan with me if it's going to be under an hour. Otherwise, I try to leave him home with Dad or take him to daycare for a bit.

i do go on my own in the week for one or two things we ran out of or forgot tho.

Usually I like to go as a family. It was the way we did it growing up. But sometimes I enjoy that little bit of time to myself as well.

I ALWAYS spend less if my husband is there - less likely to say "OH wont that look cute on Mikee or Andy" Or ooooh Andrew would like this.

For BIG shopping, like household items, toiletries, etc -plus groceries we go as a family.

For small things, like a handful of things that we are out of, I go by myself usually on my way home from class, or when my DH is with my girls.

For everything else, I take one of my girls with me while the other is in school and DH is at work.

Jamison'smama replied: I have become a coupon JUNKIE--so I go alone as it take me quite some time to find the deals. I think I will be able to speed it up when I become more proficient at couponing.

booey2 replied: I go alone and take my babysitter, she lives righ next door. It is my only 2nd hour a week kid free, the other is when I go to my WW meeting.

Nina J replied: Emily and Odessa usually come with me, sometimes they'll stay home with Chris, or sometimes Chris will come too. But, most of the time Emily, Odessa and I go.

coasterqueen replied: Dh and I do it on our lunch hours over 2 days. Sometimes we get it done in one days lunch hour. We go as a family to buy house cleaning supplies, diapers, etc on the weekend. We want to spend as much time with the girls since we work full time and really don't want to spend that time with them grocery shopping. We all end up grumpy and it doesn't make for good quality time for us.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I prefer to go alone, I get my coupons used and spend way less. I dont mind goign as a family but DH has a bad habit of addingthings tot he cart and he has passed some of this to Kait Sometimes I like to take just kait, she is good at know and remembering the things we need.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I hate going alone. I usually end up having to do it myself with Andrew along, but whenever I can I get Dh to go along. We'll see how I feel about this in a few more years and another kid or two down the line.

Our Lil' Family replied: Most of the time its me and Thomas, occassionally Tim too. I do enjoy the odd times that I do get to go alone though. Last Thurs. Tim and I went while Thomas was in Mother's Day Out....that was nice!

Lol that's a good idea! I know if Scott went instead of me we'd spend less. I do try hard though - no matter how cheap I go and coupons and sales I take advantage of I can't seem to get it below $60 whenever I buy groceries for the week.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I would love to go alone, but the only time I would be able to do that is on Sunday and DH always wants to come along (then he rushes me.)

So, normally I just go as needed during the week and tote Ethan along (while Maddie is in school). I don't have a specific day that I grocery shop.
