greetings from sunny florida
amynicole21 wrote: Hey everybody! I'm alive Still without power and going nuts. Living at MILs, using her dial up right now - it took me 20 min to log in We're doing ok - terribly hot and frustrated, but alive Thanks Cary for checking in on us! It meant a lot. House is ok - minor damage which we already fixed. Lost everything in the fridge, but that can be replaced. We're wearing out our welcome at MIL's house I think. She's not used to living with a 2yo and it's stressing her out. Both DH and my work is still without power, and we aren't positive we'll be getting paid for much longer if the power doesn't come back up. Rumor is we'll have to take vacation time. Miss you all, and cannot WAIT to get back to normal.
Boys r us replied: I'm so glad to hear from you and that you guys are okay!!! We've all been worried about you!!
If there is anything at all that you guys need..please let us know!
You and your family will be in my thoughts hun!
jdkjd replied: Good grief! I'm glad you are ok and your MIL will recover.
Jamison'smama replied: So glad all are safe---living with at misplaced toddler is even more challenging--how did Sophia do through all this?
DansMom replied: Thanks for checking in! I'm glad to hear you're okay. Hope everything is back in order by Saturday (a very special day )
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Glad to hear you are safe and that there was only minor damage to your house. I'm sorry things are getting tense with your MIL, but she should adjust soon. How long do they think you will be without power? I hope things improve for you soon and that you and your DH are back to work.
coasterqueen replied: OMG!! I am so glad to *hear* from you. Been so worried! Glad it was minor damage and I hope things continue to get closer to normal soon . ((HUGS))
kit_kats_mom replied: Amy, honestly. If MIL is needing a break, you guys are more than welcome to come crash at our house for a day or two. We have a toddler proof house and K even has her own play room which I'm sure she'd be happy to share with Sophia.
I've already spoken with DH and he said it's fine. I even just bought two air beds for K's room for when guests visit. You'd have your own room.
Let me know if you are interested.
Hugs!
Edited to say: we have a super cold AC system in our new house too. I usually have to wear a sweater at home. LOL
MomToMany replied: Nice to see you, Amy! I'm glad you guys are safe and sound. You're MIL will get over it; she should appreciate the fact that everyone's OK. I'd be scared to death to go through something like that.
Cary- what a wonderful offer! That's incredibly thoughtful !
ediep replied: its so good to hear from you! So glad that you and family are ok!
kit_kats_mom replied: Thanks but I just understand what she's going though. Plus, I WAH & work's slow right now so I could use some company. LOL
I hate it when we have to visit my mom. The visit itself it great but trying to watch a toddler in a house that isn't child-proofed can be nerve wracking. I ended up leaving my moms a day early just because I was so tired of watching K like a hawk. It's exhausting.
Guest_amynicole21 replied: Thanks, guys! They are saying power should be up by Midnight Fri at the latest... if it takes that long I'll jump off a bridge! Sophia's been doing ok, but it's so hard to explain to her why she can't watch tv or take a warm bath at home. MIL's is def. not child-proofed, not to mention MIL freaks if anything is the least bit messy or out of place She complained that Sophia kept her up "all night long" because she woke a few times crying to nurse.
Cary - thank you SO much for your offer. If we didn't have to check in on the animals so many times per day, I'd take you up on it in a second. Poor cats and dog are so miserable in the stuffy house.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I am glad your okay...sorry about the living arrangements....I could not imagine having to live with MIL for more than a day or 2.....she to has way to much stuff for Kaitlin to get into.....I hope they can get power back on soon for you.
kimberley replied: good to see you are okay! we were worried about you guys! hope things get back to normal soon.
paradisemommy replied: YEAH, AMY!!! I've been worried sick and so glad you finally made in online to check in!! Sorry you are having to live at your MIL's house..not sure how much of that I could take too!! I'm just so happy to see things weren't much worse for you guys!
A&A'smommy replied: YAY its GREAT to hear from you! You know we were all really worried about you and we miss you LOTS! I will be glad when everything is back to normal for you guys I hope you don't have to take vaction that has to suck! Take care sweetie and we hope to see you back at home soon!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: It's great to hear from you Amy. At this point everyone I was worried about is accounted for. I'm glad that the damage wasn't too bad to your house and that you have all ready fixed it. If only they could get the power on. I know what that is like. We were without power for a week when I was in elementary school. That is when Hurricane Gloria hit Long Island. My Mom had a time of it trying to keep all of us occupied without power. The important thing is that you are all safe. I'm sorry that you have to put up with your MIL. It's sad that she can't be just a little more sympathetic. Hopefully you will all be able to go home soon.
lsjulee replied: Ahhh so happy to hear from you Amy. Sean was just asking me about you last nite. Glad that all are safe, now that's the priority. Hope you get everything settled soon.
Josie83 replied: I'm really glad you and your family are okay Amy, I hope you cope with your mother in law. That is so cheeky of your company to try and get you to take holiday time off for something thatis not your fault. How rude. I hope you are managing to enjoy the extra time you spend with Sophia xx
Littlejojames replied: So gald that your all ok!!
Your work company have some front dont they??? Holidays for something that is destroying homes and lives??? Madness
aspenblue1 replied: I am glad you and your family are ok. Hopefully they will have power and you will be able to go home soon.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Amy I'm glad you are all okay. I hope you get power soon and things are back to normal for you guys.
MommyToAshley replied: I haven't been on much the last few days, but I kept checking to see if there was any news from you. I thought I had replied to this earlier but I must have forgotten to hit "add reply"... I probably got interrupted in the middle of responding.
I am so glad you and your family are ok. I am sorry that you have no power and that you are stuck in your current living arrangements, but that is only temporary. Hang in there, things will be back to normal soon!
We miss you and all the Sophia stories!
