going for another car - hope this works out
J-rod wrote: well ive kinda given up on getting my old 95 stang back....and it has a couple memories id rather not deal with again.....so i found another 95 Mustang...that needs minor work but still good enough for a daily driver... so here is my idea.
we are going to buy it....ill drive it for a while....fix it all up.....build the motor/etc....then ill keep it until our first son graduates HS and then give the car to him...
if we have a girl....ill do the same for them...but concentrate more on looks and not power... (sorry if im coming off sexist...dont mean it that way....its just generally girls prefer looks over power)
so im excited....i have something to work on and look forward to giving our kid a good graduation present....and who knows...prolly get to share some of the work with our kids.
anyways...lets hope this works out...only snag so far is being able to go get the car. its in NJ and she cant fly...and i dont want her on the road for 6 hours then have to drive back 6 hours....so we looking into borrowing my uncles car hauler and tow it back...so she doesnt have to drive any.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Sounds like a good idea! Hope it all works out, and you guys are able to get there and get it. Male or female child to be- I hope you have good memories re-building & re-constructing wtih your child.
I know little about cars, but are you talking about a Mustang Fastback?
J-rod replied: no the fastbacks went out in the 70's this is a late model 95.
i do have a 66 stored somewhere. but it will probably be sold as i dont have the time for it...and wont until im way older....
here is a pic of the car im looking into getting. needs paint and things...but its alot better start than my old 95. 1/2 the fun to me is bringing it back to life....giving it a second chance...as i have had.

i know its not pretty or as nice as prolly most of your alls cars....or as my last stang....but is a start and perfect for my plans.
C&K*s Mommie replied: That is a nice car! So that would be your project car? Are you going to be the family car person, or is your fiancee the one to drive the family car, and you will still be able to drive a sportier car like this?
moped replied: Sweet - love it................it won't be for the baby to be in?
J-rod replied: well we have a Jeep as well....and i got another car for a daily driver.
the baby can and will ride in this. child seats fit perfectly in the back seat. i have seen freinds who have done it....one even leaves it in for the car shows and claims it as a "mod" he's me hero. lol
edit - yes that would be a daily driven/project car.
DVFlyer replied: What are you looking at doing to it? JBA is local here in San Diego and (as I'm sure you know) they are BIG Mustang people.
I had an '82 and '87 (both 5.0's) that I loved. The '82 went up in flames (long intake manifold installation error story...... not good ). The 87 was traded in for a Sentra SE-R, off all things.
3xsthefun replied: Nice car!
We have a 84' SVO.
J-rod replied: well i want to be a little bit different. building the v6. i got friends runing 9-10 second 1/4 mile in V6...i got to catch them
it will eventually one day...before it gets passed on have a 4.2L stroker (if not a 4.5L SVO motor) twin turbo (or a BIG supercharger) and im gonna go with the Cervinis stalker front bumper, cowl hood, saleen sides and rear. unsure on rims...want something different...i dont see around here or that ive had before. i want to teach my kids about mustangs and how to have a fast car..but respect it!
its a big dream right now until it is sitting in my garage.
yea ive had JBA headers on my first stang.
ive had a heavily modified 95 V6, slightly modified 200 V6, and then my most current 98 GT Vert.
<------ bleeds ford blue....lives and dies by Mustangs
DVFlyer replied: A 9-10 second V6? Whoa........ That's squeezing some serious HP out of that motor. I'm assuming it's juiced?
Sounds like you've got a good plan. I've never gone to the extent you will/ have, but one of my sister's boyfriends was way into fixing up cars. He was a Chevy guy, though, and had a 327 he would put in car after car. He had a 66 Chevelle, a Nova (don't remember the year) and even a Vega that all had that motor in it at some point. He loved that motor more than life.
Good luck with it.
J-rod replied: both 10 sec V6's are turbo'd, both twin. the 9 second turbo is stroked and turbo'd. tuned by delk performance...guess it helps he works there. lol
good thing is if you can find a 4.5L SVO V6 motor...its cabable of well over 1000 RWHP and can rev way above 8k.
but you gotta drop around 6k for one....thats last on my list if ever. lol
J-rod replied: here is where i got my addicting habit. lol
here is our timeslip page: http://www.v6power.net/portal/timeslips/mustang.php
all V6's
CantWait replied: Sounds like a great grad gift. Your baby will be thrilled
na81 replied: NICE CAR!! I hope you get the car and are able to fix it up the way you want! My SO has been wanting to beef up his Jeep Wrangler for a couple of years and so far all he has had time to do is put big tires on it! It will get there some day! I'm sure your son/daughter will love it when you give it to them! Good luck! BTW, that car is nicer than the car I drive! (2001 Dodge Intrepid)
J-rod replied: well i got the $ ready....just need to borrow a trailer
modding mustangs to me is like drugs. its addicting and expensive. lol so this car WILL be a slow build...but heck i got 18 yrs to TOTALLY re-do it.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Sweet! I love Mustangs, my dream car has always been a '68 Shelby. Seeing those makes me want to purr. Aaron bought a '94 model, it's nice, but cramped for 3 of us now. And in Idaho, it makes no sense during the winter. Lots of power + rear wheel drive = Accident waiting to happen. But I still like the way it looks in the driveway. LOL.
J-rod replied: my dream stang is a 1969 Boss 429
this will make my 4th mustang in as many years. lol
just got my dad to agree to the road trip on it. gonna send deposit tomorrow.....then hopefully get it in a few weeks...once the graduations and parties are done.
J-rod replied: hahaha a buddy of mine found this old video of me and the stang. my first recorded burnout. man that was a long time ago.
still really miss that one...but this one be better....cause its for "baby"
