first day of exercising

Good for you! Just suffer through it for about 2 more weeks and you'll really start to enjoy it.
CantWait replied: Eating within the first 2 hours after excercising is the best time because your metabolism is so high and can still burn the calories. Just make healthy choices, and include protein in your after workout meal.

boyohboyohboy replied: thank you , i am going to need so much encouragement..i hate to work out! it was so hard to get going, and when it was done, i was surprised how emotional i felt that i had just completed one work out..its been years..i am so out of shape..but i am determined to live a better life, and not be over weight. i want to have energy to spend time with the kids...but man, i feel like i totally undid any progress i made today because i am so hungry and keep eating..
but tomorrow is another day...and its day two of the dvd's from you know where.
CantWait replied: Just keep going with it, and take baby steps. You don't have to change everything at once. If anything that will just make you feel like you're giving everything up and will hold you back. Start with excercising and then eating. You'll find with time, and a lot sooner then you think, those dvd's will become easier and you'll feel better.
Kaitlin'smom replied: OMG I worked out last night and today I could litterly eat all day but I have been really really good, well I am at work and theres really nothing here to eat but what I brought. Its home in the evenings that I have to be careful, but as Marie I am tring baby steps in hopes that I can do this longer.
congrats to you and I am so uncorrdinated as well but it will get easier when I was doing one last year for a month I was finally getting the hang of it, then I got sick and never really got back into it.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Good for you Stacy! Yes, I am extra hungry after a workout. But as long as you stick to healthy choices, like Marie said, don't worry so much about the quantity. Eating 5 or 6 small meals throughout the day is actually suggested. As long as they are healthy balanced foods though. And yes, you are still burning calories 2 hours after you workout, so why not eat why your metabolism is so high. You may want to try eating a protein snack BEFORE you workout though. That could help make you less hungry afterward. A handful of nuts, a small unsweetened yogurt, a cheese stick. Water is a good one too, as you know. Keep up the good work, but like someone else said, don't burn yourself out!

I'm sure the hunger is b/c you burned off so many calories, which is a great sign! Keep it up and like everyone else has said, baby steps, one day at a time!
boyohboyohboy replied: i got these dvd's called THE FIRM TOTAL TRANSFORMATION it came with 6 dvd's and a case of weights that start at 1 pound and go all the way up to 6pound each..so you have 12 pounds in the end.. and it comes with a booklet to tell you what dvd to do when, and it also have shorter versions of all the routines, like 15 min ones if you dont have the full time to give.. and it gives diet plans, and it has a web site and all kinds of help. i really like the music, and so far its ok. it is hard, and i cant imagine increasing the weights, i wasnt supposed to start with any weights but i did, and tonight i am paying for that.
if you want more info, or the actual web site, pm me and i will get it off the book, if you google what i gave you it should come up.. i saw it on an infomercial..
but i can see where it would work if you did it..
