eating strange stuff - not like paint chips

beckamouse wrote: but this is definitly unusual for me. Lately i've had a bit of a peanut butter obsession. Just a small one. Yesterday i had atoasted peanut butter sandwich with bits of a hershey bar stuffed inside (i dont even like chocolate but it sounded really good and really is)

Today i woke up and the first thing i had was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with raisens and cherrio's inside it....its actually not that bad. (again, i dont normally eat jelly no matter what flavor but its what i really wanted this morning)

heheh...anyone else eaten anything a little out of the ordinary during thier pregnancies?

pinka_star replied: Oh man, now I'm really hungry!!! Peanut butter, and chocolate sandwhich thingy sounds YUMMY!!!!! *drools*

I didn't really eat weird things when I was pregnant. I ate a lot of sweet stuff (I always do though). The only weird thing I ate that I never ate before I got pregnant was ketchup. I couldn't get enough of it. I ate it out of the bottle sometimes. lol

kimberley replied: hehe you are going to have a girl! i do not like chocolate at all and when i was pg with Jade, i couldn't get enough chocolate! milk, milkshakes, ice cream, cakes, cookies... as long as there was chocolate involved, i was happy! lol with both the boys i could only eat very bland food and was a protein junkie. all steak and eggs for 9 months!

pinka_star replied: HEY! You're probably right Kimberley. My whole pregnancy I couldn't get enough chocolate and sweet stuff. (but I didn't really think anything of it since I have a sweet tooth normally) and little Emma poped out! That would be cool if it is a girl. wub.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: well the only thing I had to have my 9th month was milk, milk, milk it had to be 2% and I would go through a galon in a day and a half.....I just could not drink enough

jem0622 replied: With my daughter I craved strawberries. With Nathan I craved orange soda. With Gabe I craved salad and tuna fish. With my angel baby I craved these delicious hamburgers. Nothing with this one yet. We'll see.

mckayleesmom replied: I survived on Oatmeal when I was preggo....I never had any cravings and never felt hungry. I had to force myself to eat the oatmeal and then force myself to keep it down. tongue.gif

amynicole21 replied: I ate 1 or 2 PB&J sandwiches every day of my pregnancy... and yes, I have a girl wink.gif

Then only other thing I craved was mustard, which I hated before. blink.gif

mummy2girls replied: well i craved alot of choclate when i was preggo with Jordan. LOL. And with jenna i just could not get enough of eggs...boiled eggs. LOL. There was one weird sandwich i loved eating while preggo with jenna....peanut butter, pickles and cheese sandwich.LOL

Kaitlin'smom replied:
okay that is soooo gross...........ewwwww

mummy2girls replied: I know but i just couldnt get enough of it. now just thinking of it makes me hurl.LOL

Kaitlin'smom replied:
glad your not still eating it.... wacko.gif

Mom2Boyz replied:
I was the same way!!! I hated mustard before I was pg. But during the time I was pg I ate it on EVERYTHING, Chicken, burritos, tacos, potato chips, mac n cheese.
I had to have my mustard!!!! emlaugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I ate a lot of chocolate which is why I got so fat (BAD ME) before I got pg I didn't really eat chocolate. I hated pickles while I was pg and before I would eat them by the jar fulls, my dad asked me when I had just turned 17 if i was pg because i was eating so many of them, of course at the time i wasnt. lol rolling_smile.gif

alice&arik replied: I had to have ice cream, every day I went to Dairy Queen and had a blizzard. I craved ice cream and fresh fruit, so i always got a banana split blizzard (strawberries, bananas, ice cream). But I did make some really wierd sandwiches. Cheese, ranch dressing and popcorn. It tasted really good, but I threw it up shortly afterward. rolleyes.gif

amynicole21 replied:
I was the same way with ice cream and fruit!!!

Cheese, ranch dressing and popcorn????? Ack! puke.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: With Cameron I craved HOT AND SPICY mexican food, buffalo chicken, even hotsauce on pasta! And salads! I could eat salad until i got sick.. never did though!
With this one ( which is as far as we know a girl) I craved sauerkraut wacko.gif
For the first 2 weeks before i found out i was PG I ate sauerkraut and cheese quesidillias... gross I know! Imagine the poor employees and childrne at my daycare center!! But lately it's been chocolate! Which worked out well with easter and all!! laugh.gif

beckamouse replied: okay...most of that stuff sounded really good. some of it just plain gross (cheese and WHAT?! yeesh!)

another thing i'm wanting a whole lot of is large hoagies with a whole lot of peppers on them. DH usually sleeps in the other room when i've eaten those. Its funny to be that gassy to a point then it does get a little scary
And i normally love the unusual kinds of ice cream, anything ben and jerrys was great.

now i like vanilla or just plain chocolate or just plain whatever.
sauerkraut and cheese quesidillias...dear lord....*hugs* it'll be alright.

3_call_me_mama replied:
Thanks.. it's much better now.. moved on to chocolate and fruit! Which is really good when you dip the fruit in the chocolate.... lucky for me i have only lost weight this pregnancy not gained any! But with Cam I didn't gain until about 8 months adn it was 12 lbs total! Hoping for the same this time!! (probably not though cause i eat far worse now!!)

maestra replied: I craved italian salad dressing- I could have eaten it on anything. And one time, I did crave pickles and ice cream, but didn't actualy eat it! rolling_smile.gif

ediep replied: I only craved cheese, pizza, and pancakes!! I still love those things. I think I ate PB&J every day while pregnant too

MylittlePaige replied: Oh my these are some weird cravings...the things these babies do to us! wacko.gif

I would eat pretzel sticks dipped in the whipped cream cheese all the time. Also it was the hottest summer ever when I was pregnant and since I didn't deliver till Sept I had all the heat at the end of my pregnancy so I ate Rita's Water Ice-mango flavor EVERY DAY! They knew me by belly...oops I mean name!

One strange craving I had was chocolate pudding. I have some texture issues with foods usually so I don't even like pudding but throughout the whole pregnancy I would eat loads and loads of choc pudding. DH still laughs when he sees pudding and says "Watch out if Alli starts chowing down on some pudding there may be a bun in the oven-MEN!"

Alli and Paige 09/05/02
BTW now Paige LOVES pudding..I guess it was all the amounts she had at an early age *blushing*

beckamouse replied: i just made some mashed potatos and added ground beef, chives, three different cheeses and sour cream and added chicken gravy to it..... not too bad considering i dont like the texture of ground beef all that much
