dumb question - wireless internet

holley79 replied: Our router is centralized in our house so I can pretty much use my laptop anywhere in the house. Go from room to room and see if it still works.

Celestrina replied: My DH's works pretty much anywhere in the house. He LOVES it. He can now do some work from the bedroom. I got him this: laptop table for in the bedroom.

Celestrina replied: It also comes in maple . What I did was figure out how much it would be after tax & shipping was go to Walmart & got a gift certificate in that amount. Then I used it online so I didn't have to give my credit card # online.

It even works outside the home like on a deck and when he had to take it down to the plumbing business his lap top works there also.

MamaJAM replied: Yes you can use it just about anywhere...they do have a 'range' -- but, normally, it extends throughout the whole house and outside.

Please note -- If you do have/get wireless...make sure to lock down your system. If it's not locked down ANYONE with wireless can use it. Hackers LOVE finding open wireless lines.

TeagansMom609 replied: Wireless routers are great! I used to hate sitting at my desk. Made my butt hurt after awhile! LOL! Now that I am wireless I just lounge on my couch with the laptop. Its super. I say get one!

Same here. Ours works anywhere on the 2 acres I've taken it about on, lol. I haven't tried it out in the 1.5 wooded acreage of our land though. All of our computers are on wireless.
