dumb bed question - help..

haha i measured with my hands... 9 1/2 hands for queen and 8 for double

you're just like my dh..he always measures with body parts too!! tee hee. well that's what i thought too but i always see different sheets for full and for queen. i thought mine was a queen but some sheets that i bought for it are just huge and always slip off. i have one of those really puffy mattresses too so even more so you would think it would fit..i dunno..maybe it's just the maker of the sheets??

amynicole21 replied: A full is between a twin and a queen. I guess they call that a double in some places? Sometimes sheets come with "deep pockets" for extra thick matresses... and sometimes they actually stretch! They make these little tube thingies that hold the sheets down by sliding over the seem on the mattress and pinning the sheets down. WOW that was hard to explain! I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond.

you just reminded me of a pretty funny story Amy. My mom and I traded beds when it looked like K would be sleeping with us full time. We had a queen and she gave us their King. She gave me all of the sheets and everything too. When I was unpacking it all, I ran across a set of those rubber thingy's and I thought they were some kind of kinky sex thing. I was having horrible images of my mom being tied to the bed etc...it was tramauatic. LOL I threw them away.

Anyway, I finally found out what they were and felt pretty stupid.

Full and double are the same thing (I think they're 5ft wide and somewhere between 5-6ft long).

Queen is the same size as full long-wise but wider.
