cookies and a question...

PrairieMom wrote: Well, we are nearly finished with our annual Christmas baking extravaganza. thumb.gif I have prepared approximately a zillion calories worth of treats. Possibly more.
All I have left are the sugar cookies ( which are mixed, but in the fridge waiting to be rolled)

Al was helping me this morning, note the HUGE stack of cookies behind her. You can't even see the quadruple batch of fudge or the rosettes. rolling_smile.gif

So, here is my question. I made up these boxes of cookies that I am going to give to the neighbor and a friend, and I also thought that I would give one to Ben's teacher as her Christmas gift. Do you think that this is to much? The empty spot in the box is where the sugar cookies will go once I get them baked. I didn't want to just get her another ornament or something cheesy, but I don't want to over do it either. I was going to drop it off at the school office so she wouldn't have to have it in her classroom with all those children.

moped replied: Looks great.......but most people with shre right? For one person I would say too many, but not for a teacher who will likely share with many others.

What are those rolled things?

youngmomofone replied: OMg can I have some???

And I think it is a wonderful gift for a teacher. smile.gif

PrairieMom replied:
peppermint pinwheels. They are super easy and fast. its basically a rolled sugar cookie, but you do 1/2 red and 1/2 white, add some peppermint extract, roll each color out separately, then lay the red on top of the white, roll it up, and slice.

PrairieMom replied:
oh, wait... did you mean the ones in teh upper left of the box? those are Krumkake, they are traditional Scandinavian cookies, they taste kind of like sugar icecream cones. very thin, light and crispy.

moped replied:
Oh no I mean the tortilla looking ones?

moped replied:
Yes those! YUMMMMMMM

lisar replied:
Those sound soooooo good. And I dont think thats to many cookies. They would disappear in my house in minutes

PrairieMom replied:
you need a special iron to make them, and you have to cook them one at a time. Well, I have a double iron, so I can go twice as fast, but they take FOREVER. No one likes to make them, since you need special stuff and all that, but they are always everyone favorites.

MommyToAshley replied: I don't think it is too much, since she will most likely share with family and friends. I agree... those would be gone in a flash at our house. Yum Yum!! They look delicious!

Swood75 replied: No,I don't think it is too much..I would Soooo LOVE to have them right now..Sinice I am having to really watch my sugar intake etc I am wanting even more sweets that usual sad.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Paula Deen made those pinwheels on her cookie swap show and stuck a sucker stick thingy in them for kids, they looked SO GOOD and look good in your basket too. Now I want to bake!

Oh and I don't think that's too much....she will love them!

CantWait replied: Tara, you're crazy, but that's amazing. Not to much at all, she's likely to share.
