clothes... - WTH!!???!!!

my2monkeyboys wrote: Will is small for his age (he's about 37" tall, weighs 27 lbs.) So of course clothes fit him weird. As far as jeans go, 2Ts are too short but fit him the waist, 3T are a little long and have to be taken up ALOT in the waist. I'm so sick of having to take in all of his jeans so they'll stay up on his skinny little waist! Also, who's kid grows 3-4" in a year? That's about the difference in the length between 2t and 3t pants. Is there any brand that has the adjustable waist in them? I need special clothes for him I guess... it's just so irritating!
Thanks for letting me rant... growl.gif blahblah.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I have not seen specifically a certain brand that is adjustable in the waist, that I can recall. I know that my nephew encountered the same probs, but it was eventually resolved when his lower body caught up with his torso, and he wears clothes that are similiar in size.

We have a semi-similiar prob with Kellie (our youngest) but she has no rear end so clothes fall off of her, so we end up letting her wear her older clothes that still fit (e.g. 6.-9mos bottoms) or I have to roll the waist on the 18mos bottoms. Or she is just continually pulling her bottoms up, as they slide down.

If you can find them, maybe you might have success with elastisized waisted pants/shorts. They are a little forgiving when it comes to smaller waisted children, but the length should still be right as far as where the hem falls.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Alex is the same way when it comes to jeans, so I got him a belt and buy the pants that fit in the legs and the belt holds them on his little waste

ZandersMama replied: Zan is the same, very tall and skinny waist. we put belts on him when we can, but he doesnt really like them. Most of the time I end up taking them in, its a pain in the butt but its easier then chasing him around all the time pulling up his pants! tongue.gif

luvmykids replied: Old Navy has adjustable waists, Target is starting to have a few, Osh Kosh

amymom replied: Sears and Kmart carry the pants with the waist that adjust. Good Luck. I've been there for forever. Now my teenage son wants the pants to fall off tongue.gif so it is good he has a skinny waist. Good for his style anyway!!! tongue.gif

PrairieMom replied: yup. Old navy has some, and so does GAP

ashtonsmama replied: No help I can give, but good luck!

my2monkeyboys replied: Thanks for all the help! I am already buying the pants with elastic in the waist as they are the only ones that are fairly easy to take in. I'll look into Sears and Old Navy, though I hate to spend $15-20 on a pair of pants that he'll only wear for about a year or so... blink.gif
I may have to, though, seeing as how my fingers are getting callouses on them! biggrin.gif
Thanks, again!

Jamison'smama replied: Old Navy jeans are 2 for 25.00 right now---not too bad. Gymboree and Carters also have adjustable waist. Jamison is the same way, she wears a 4 or 5 length but a 3 waist.

holley79 replied: Umm shorts, maybe. dunno.gif

Cece00 replied: I've seen then @ ON & I got some for my older son last yr @ Target.

my2monkeyboys replied: Looks like I'll have check out Old Navy this coming weekend (it's the tax-free holiday!). I could get him just 2 pair maybe. And supplement with the others I've already taken in. I hate him wearing those bc you can see a big bulge on either side where they are folded over/stitched. Maybe the adj. waist pants will look better, too.
Thanks!

kimberley replied: gap! james has the same problem still. longer legs but skinny waist. we either used belts (which gap also sells) or the adjustable waist pants from gap. they are like preggo pants. thumb.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: Gap, too, then. Maybe I'll get a decent deal at one of them. biggrin.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: Kait has the same problem. Old navy is what I buy her most of the time. I normally get them on sale. Frustrating.

Boo&BugsMom replied: I saw ones at Walmart the other day that had the adjustable waist. Just an FYI for ya! smile.gif
