big delima school or coach - must decide today

J-rod wrote: well im torn and must decide today.

i can go back and take the last college class i need to finish my degree as an evening class this coming fall.... it will not help me with my current job as its a small company and im as high as i can go in it.....but it would maybe help in another company if i were to go and find a better job.

or i can take the coaching job...make good $ for the few months of work.....but id be gone/busy M-F 7a-8p from august thru mid November

ZandersMama replied: It would be very hard for you to spend that much time away from your new little one. I say do whatever is going to make you able to spend as much time with your new family, there will always be another job, another co;urse, but she will only be a baby once and you dont want to miss that.

J-rod replied:
its a boy...but i know what ya meant

ZandersMama replied: lmao yes sorry just used to calling my own belly a girl.........hoping........

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Can you not do both? Work during the day and go to school in the evennig? you would only be doing both for september october and mid-november... and generally an evening class is 2x a week for 90 minutes, or one 3 hour class, isn't it?

I would do both.

J-rod replied:
well my current job is 7-4 so that only leaves after 4pm free... so i can:

work 7-4...then coach 5-8 5 nights a week

OR

work 74..then class monday and wednesday 5-7

Hillbilly Housewife replied: oh ok, i understand.

I say do the class. Um, architectural engineers make a heck of a lot more than coaches. Well, most coaches... we're not talking like NHL or Pro football coach, are we? tongue.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: But if you are not planning on looking for a new job any time soon, it might be better to do the coaching for a while. and next yr you can always take the class at night if you decide you want to change your career...
But I agree, once that baby boy gets here, you will want to be at home as much as possible.
The first yr flys by, and all the exciting things happen, you wont want to miss that!

holley79 replied: Honestly it would be totally up to you. What do you REALLY want to do?

coasterqueen replied:
True, but it's entirely dependant upon the area he lives in how much the engineer makes.

C&K*s Mommie replied: For a few months, IMO, I would coach now then return to class sometime early next yr.

BAC'sMom replied:
I agree with Nicole.

gr33n3y3z replied: I'm sure which ever you pick it will be the right choice for you and the family
I know both opertunities are very important to you smile.gif

J-rod replied: gonna call the BOE now and see exactly what kind of $$$ were talking here...knowing na exact number might help

J-rod replied: in case anyone cares i took the coaching job..went and got fingerprinted and all that jazz on friday. go for my TB test tomorrow... so steph officially leavers her job on wednesday......time for her to rest and get ready for kyan....and ill be working my arse off. LOL......

C&K*s Mommie replied: Congrats on accepting the coaching position. Hope you enjoy that! Good luck in the future when you make a return to college. thumb.gif

ashtonsmama replied: I would go back to school and take that route...

ETA: SCRATCH that! Sorry. Just saw you accepted the coaching job, congrats! I think it'll work out just fine, good luck!

3xsthefun replied: That is awesome! Congrats! thumb.gif

J-rod replied:
well i took the coaching job based on financials

to take the class means spending $800 and class lasts from august to Dec.

to coach ill make a 2-3k and last from august to 2nd week in Nov. this will also offset a little of where steph will be off work for a few months...

plus when would i have time to study with a newborn....the class is physics 2.....and ive failed it already.... (partying too much unsure.gif ) but im older now and more meaning to life so im sure i can pass it now...but i got to have time to study.

gr33n3y3z replied:
I think that was a good move
Make sure you take that class bc you will have something to fall back on
architectural engineers do very well for themselves I hate to see you not finnish.
My son John loves physics he likes to think lol

J-rod replied:

luvmykids replied: thumb.gif Congrats! You'll be a great coach!
