bassinet/ crib

holley79 wrote: Annika has gotten to where she does not like sleeping in her bassinet. I think it's because she is feeling confimed. As soon as I put her in my bed she flails her arms out to the side and sacks out.

How old was your child/ren when you started putting them in the crib?

PrairieMom replied: I swithched The Boy over to his own room at 2 months. I just wasn't sleeping well with him in our room. I would wake up to his every little noise.

TeagansMom609 replied: Matthew refuses to sleep in his bassinet. The only place he will sleep is with me. sleep.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: dunno.gif

I'm still waiting to put mine in a crib... she's 3 months now, there's almost no point!! rolling_smile.gif

kimberley replied: huh.gif sadly, none of mine have been crib sleepers so far. i had james sleeping in one for about a month starting just over 1month old, but the ex screwed that up by picking him up all the time dry.gif i have tried with kaleigh but no dice. we are having daytime sleep issues with her because Jade is the noisiest child on the planet lol. hope you have better luck with Annika. hug.gif

pinniy replied: I guess we were lucking, we switched Trei-Trei to his crib at 4 months with no problems. Then, when we would try to lay down w/ him in our bed, he thought it was a playground. Luckily, this past week, he's become more cuddly, and willing to sit still. ...at least for a little bit.

Good luck, they know what THEY want to do... tongue.gif

shelbysmom replied: I had her in her crib the first night I brought her home. It does help that her bedroom and right across the hall from our room. My mom said she tried having my sleep in my cradle in her room in the begining and got no sleep!!! She loves her crib, she naps in it, plays in it. It is a great thing!! Even when she was sick for 2 weeks, I slept in her room on the floor, but she was in her crib.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I switched Andrew to his crib when he was 4 months, but I would have done it sooner if I'd HAD the crib sooner. tongue.gif He was way too big for the bassinet too and his arms were always bumping the sides. If you're ready to move her to the crib but don't want to give up the convenience of having her in your room for night feedings, you can try putting the crib in your room for a couple of months or until she starts sleeping through the night. happy.gif

moped replied: I think Jack was 7 weeks - but it was onlt part of the night and then he was in bed with us eating all night - but all night was 4 months

luvmykids replied: The twins went to their cribs around 2 months, and Macie went right off the bat (it was in our room). It doesn't take them long to outgrow those bassinetts, does it?! sad.gif

5littleladies replied: Lissie is 4 1/2 months today and I just took her bassinet down 5 minutes ago. wink.gif I'm missing some of the hardware for her crib though so at the moment she is sleeping in the pack and play, and she is still waking up at 5 a.m. to eat so she is still in our room. As soon as she gives up that feeding (hopefully soon rolleyes.gif ) she will move into her big sisters' room. happy.gif

kayla's mama replied: Kayla was 2 months. I moved her to her crib upstairs when she would sleep through the night.

holley79 replied: Well the crib isn't together yet because I am waiting till payday to buy a mattress. Why do things have to cost money. rolling_smile.gif LOL

I had her in bed with me all morning. She kind of over ate so now I have to wash sheets. OH JOY. She is asleep in her bouncer right now. Her bedroom is right next door to my room. Guess we will try it out and see how things go. I would put her crib in our room if there was room. dry.gif

LilaGrace'sMom replied: Lil has been sleeping in her co-sleeper since birth. Sometimes she falls asleep in our bed while nursing, but always goes into the co-sleeper.

Cece00 replied: Usually around 5-6 months. I have a cradle, so my babies have been able to use it MUCH longer...its much bigger, hugher sides, more stable, etc. I can use it until my kids can sit up....Natalie is 4 months, she'll probably go into a crib within a month

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Jade was in her crib at 7 weeks. Jordan is still with me, but I think it might be time to put her in the crib. She's 4 months now and I just need my bed back. We are having some feeding issues with her now so I am hoping to fix that and then get her sleeping in the crib.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: We moved Wil to a crib at around 3 months. He outgrew the bassinet that my FIL made.

My3LilMonkeys replied: My kids both slept in a crib from birth on and never had any problems with it.

huggybugboy replied: Miles was 3 or 4 weeks. Like Annika, he was just too confined. He likes to sleep with his arms way out and as soon as they started hitting the side of the bassinet, he'd wake up and cry. So we tried him in his crib and everyone slept better. smile.gif Good luck to you.

msoulz replied: I slept with mine until about 5 weeks in a bed in her room then put her in the crib while I slept in her room still. She never used the bassinet we had set up in our bedroom. About a week ago I started sleeping in my bed because she is sleeping between 4 and 8 hours at night thumb.gif so I am not waking the DH every two hours. It's delightful! But back to the topic, Erin also sleeps with her arms out or over her head so the bassinet would have been trouble for her. No swaddling for my girl - she needs those hands free!

LovinMyGirls replied: Natalie started out in her crib but I had trouble with her sleeping in it so I switched her to a bassinett. Now that her sleep schedule is more normal she's been sleeping in her crib again
