anyone watching Dr. Phil?

kimberley replied: i saw it. how awful that poor little girl. i just don't understand... if they had suspicions since their daughter was born (she is now 4yo) why on earth did they ever leave her with him?!?! why didn't they do something sooner? i know they had the 2 brother rule, but come on... when my boys are playing video games, i could set a bomb off beside them and they wouldn't notice. it is a wake up call for us to really know our kids.

I don't think that what he did has really sunk in...Even when he was crying it seemed like he was putting on a show to me.

Anyways I cried like the whole time.... Poor family.... and, in a sense, I sort of pity the kid too.... he's only 19... he's got a whole life of this crap to look forward to...

ctymom replied: I can't imagine how things like that happen. I can understand in family's that are disfunctional but not in families that seem to be 'normal'. My mom used to work at a psychiatric hospital as a medical trascriptionist for children. You'd be amazed what she read. Parents of a 5 yo had to send their child there b/c they were afraid for their lives! They had to sleep with their bedroom door locked b/c the FIVE year old tried to light them on fire while they were sleeping. Amoung other things. What brings that out in some kids? There were many stories from there.... sad sad stories.

BTW, if you ever meet a family that isn't dysfunctional, please let me know. They simply don't exist. The most "normal" ones are always the worst! LOL

ammommy replied: You know a couple of things scared me about this family. First, this kid looked like he could be my neighbor. Nothing abnormal of "off" looking about him. Second, the Dad gave me the creeps. It seemed that he was putting on a show and wasn't really surprised about anything. I don't know what it was about him, but I got baaaadddd vibes from his image.
I really hope that the kid and the family (especially the little girl) get the help they need. Does anyone think that the kid (Makai?) was arrested?

I agree with sexymomma when she said she didn't like the dad...he really did seem like he was putting on a show and the mom didn't even really have a reaction to much of anything. I don't know if anyone else noticed,,,but the parents kept talking like Makai wasn't a part of their family....Like the dad kept saying she is MY DAUGHTER...not she is my daughter and your sister....It was kind of like they were distant to him anyways, even before they got the news.

kimberley replied: i noticed that about the parents too. i was waiting for the Springer-like twist that it was the dad who was molesting the son . i wouldn't doubt it. the way he kept saying "you are dead to us!" was really mean and creepy. i know they are upset, but he is still their son! mom seemed like she resided in Denial land. so sad. not once did they talk to him, always at him. i hope they all get help.

I agree they acted really strange. At first I thought maybe the boys were foster kids b/c of the way they talked to them and about them. (or atleast Makai) Dr Phil really has his work cut out for him.
