anyone here have an ING account?
J-rod wrote: well do ya? ive set mine up today. its an online savings account linked to your checking account. the interest is almost 5% compared to the .5% my bank was giving me. and i like it cause it takes 1 day to get from ING to your checking account...but its instantly transfered from the checking to the ING....making it harder to get to to spend and easier to save.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I looked into something similiar one time, but I do not think I was satisfied with a non-brick and mortar business having access to my funds. I also think I was turned off by the fact that there was a not a guarantee on returning my money if the business were to go bust. Such as FDIC insurance with this particular company (I have not heard of the business in a long time- not sure if they are still in exsistence or not). I have not looked int ING whatsoever, but again my choice for me is that I do not want a business having remote access to my funds without my being able to walk up and speak face to face with a human to dispute it.
That sounds like a good return on your money though. Sounds a little sketchy to me, but what do I know....
mom2my2cuties replied: I have considered it....But I am like Nicole..I think I want a local place that I can go to in case they goof up.
J-rod replied: id just rather make dollars in interest instead of the .03 i made last quarter.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: we opened an ING acct. when we started saving to move...so 3 years ago. I don't do our banking but dh loves them and I know we have had nothing but positive experiences. And there is no way to beat the interes rates. When we opened new acct.s at wells fargo after moving the person told us flat out our savings was better off staying with ING. They also kick butt on CD's
J-rod replied: it is FDCI insured

mom2my2cuties replied: Oh that is good - a lot of places like that aren't...And if they loose your money - you are up a creek.
luvmykids replied: I may have to check it out, I need a bigger return
J-rod replied: thats why i did it....im planing on taking one of my bonuses here at end of yr and letting it sit in there...they (ING) also has good CD rates as mentioned earlier.
MyLuvBugs replied: We've had ours for a few years now!! It's AWESOME!!
J-rod replied: you happy or wish youd gone somehwere else. amboydirect is at 5.25 % right now introductory then goes to 5.15.
the ING is 4.4
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yup - we have one. Love it!
ediep replied: yup, we do
J-rod replied: signed up today.
holley79 replied: My husband does have an ING account set up for us.
Kaitlin'smom replied: humm I have been looking for something with a bigger return. The one I was looking at has interest at 4.25% but you have to wait for them to send you your money, so that turned me off. I might look into this.
J-rod replied: sorry to bring back this old thread...but gotta praise ING. it is sooo easy to transfer $. at anytime day or night i can get on the computor and transfer $, or i can set up and autmatic debit to go into the acct.
and i also like how SAFE it is. when i log on using my id number and pin....it then asks you two questions (you set up during sign up) and you have to answer them to get logged on. and ING calls you to verify some info over the phone before activating your account.
ive only been a member for a week or so and already love it....its making it easier to save knowing i cant go to ATM and "take what i need:
