momofone replied: I used to hate to go when I was pregnant. I would be embarrassed with a man doctor that's why I choose a woman doctor. I was so embarrassed with a man doing examines and such. Hope everything goes well with you.
Mommy2BAK replied: yea, thats definately not my favorite place to go, but you gotta do it, so there's no sence in dreading it so badly
PrairieMom replied: I just got back from my visit. I don't get to scared, I hate the dentist worse. Don't get me wrong, I would rather be doing about anything else. at least it is short and sweet.
grapfruit replied: I don't like going, but I LOVE my doctor. He's awesome and gets it over w/quickly. I also like that he explains what he's doing and how it should feel every step of the way. There's a couple of his rooms that have cute posters on the ceiling to look at to take your mind off of the procedure. Good luck and try and relax, it's better that way.

Kentuckychick replied: Confession (nobody flame me please I've made an appointment and I AM going )... but I've never actually gone and had a full exam. And I'm 24 years old.
And it's because I am PETRIFIED! I don't know why I just am.
Yes I've been for various reasons, had ultrasounds for cysts and whatnot, but I've never had a papsmear or any of that fun stuff... and I'm not looking forward to it either
So nope, you are definitely not the only one!
HuskerMom replied: I used to hate it. My first doctor was a woman and it was always so painful for me so I found a new doctor. I had heard several people recommend the one I ended up changing to. This one's a man and he is so much better. My first one didn't want to answer any questions I had or anything. But the other one if I have any questions he'll answer anything. And Dh doesn't care if I go to a man doctor so that's good. So I don't enjoy it but I don't hate it either. I'd rather go to the gyno than the dentist.
grapfruit replied: I'm sad b/c I lost my insurance and now I need to go to the clinic. (so not my doctor that I've been w/since I was 16 ) I'm actually a little nervous about going now. To the point where I've not even made the phone call...
luvbug00 replied: Casy I'm going to a clinic too. join the uninsured parade I'm going for the same stuff and i'm not thrilled.
KY chick _ i haven't been for a normal exam in about 5 years. only went for emergancy services which i was already scared about so the exam and such were unimportant.
grapfruit replied: Have you made your appointment yet? I'm just nervous b/c I felt like my doctor CARED, you know? He always asked me "life" questions. I know he wrote it all in my chart, but he would ask if Tim popped the question yet, if I'm ready to go off b/c. Things like that. I guess I'm assuming that the clinic isn't going to be as friendly. More over worked/under paid so we don't care, kind of attitude.
luvbug00 replied: thursday morning at 10. the receptionest sounded ok . so I'm hoping it will go well. I'll post for you after an tell you how it went and if it goes well i hope that will reassure that maybe your experience goes good too. and if not...well i will spare you the additonal fear and not post much about it.
